BTW Why would anyone consider Scotland a captain after his hijinks in Ballarat last year ?
(although he had a great season)

Got me ****ed why a captain has to be Snow White. Weagles didn't have too much trouble bleeding for Cousins. Show me a flawed man and I'll show you some reality.

What a joke

Sorry but Fev should not be there, this is the leadership group not the elite players group

And everyone saying it should be Stevens needs to have thier head read. Stevens has said previously thet his attitude was incorrect and he had let himself go

The Captain should be Judd VC Simpson and thats it

Why should Fev not be in there? He bleeds for this jumper and is one of the most publicly "Blues" Player there is, constantly doing charity work and promotional tours and events for the club.

Luckily for our club, supporters have no say in the leadership group. The players voted for who THEY saw and wanted as a leader. If the players didn't have a problem with Fev, i dont know why you would:rolleyes:

Its ground zero as far as I am concnered. We start anew with hopes of glory, waiting for the resurgent Blues to come alive and play with the pride of days gone past!!!!

And if he ****s it up this time then he'll be kicked out of the group. Until then can you think of anyone more inspirational when on song other than Judd?

Agree, and even watching him after training, he is always the last player out there signing signatures and mingling with the fans, when the majority of the playing group walk right into the rooms. Clearly a passionate Blue, and despite his off-field indescretions, he has done a heap of good and deserves a place in the leadership group.

I don't think Fev should be in the leadership group either. And I really am not sold that he 'bleeds for this jumper'. He's passionate yes, and I love that he wears his heart on his sleeve. But he really needs to not hang his head when things go wrong, if the youngies look up to him that's not a great thing to witness.
With Fev, I love him on the ground when he's not throwing a tanty, and honestly I'm always the one sticking up for him when other supporters bag him.
BUT, he's like that stupid boyfriend people never dump, a million chances with some glimmers of hope in between. He's one of the most talented footballers in the league and I'm so glad he's in our jumper but I don't think he leads by example and is not a great rolemodel for the young kids.
Obviously they voted him in so that must mean something and we'll stick by that.

I guess AGW you really need to sit down and find a dictionary and look up the term leadership and what it really means

Give me a break since when has leadership had anything to do with popularity, publicity or bleeding for the club

if it did the local lammington drive lady would be running the country

everything you have said about Fev is true....and as a player and matchwinner he is one of the best at the club I just have not seen him show one bit of leadership, thats all pure and simple

In fact a couple of times last year he showed he would rather sulk on the field than show any type of leadership

Compare his record in showing leadership to Judds and then tell me he would make a great captain

So to sum it all up l have a problem with Fev being in the leadership group, not with Fev in general hope this answer your question as to my problem with Fev in the leadership group

Like it or not Fevola would have to be the biggest natural leader at the club at the minute. When he fires on the footy field he inspires the team around him to bigger and greater efforts, he's a dominant personality on the training track and around the club, and when we need a bit of physicality on the field Fevola is always the first one there to make his presence felt, sticking up for his teammates and roughing up the opposition.

If it wasn't for his idiot antics off the field he'd be the perfect captain and if he can pull his head in he'll be a valuable addition to our leadership group.

Overall, I don't think think that anyone really has a right to be upset with any of the decisions made.

As pointed out earlier, Fevola is a real 'Blues Blue', putting in the hard yards with supporters, so on and so forth...

I think a lot of us are missing the BIG picture here. We have this group, a combination of the limited experience that we have and these new, oh so promising guys. Take a step back and just have a look at some of the names in that group, and just say them together.

Chris Judd, Nick Stevens, Brendan Fevola, Heath Scotland, Andrew Carrazzo and Kade Simpson. Those names belong together at the club, it's just the way things should be.

Now if you don't mind, add the name 'Marc Murphy' into that group, and see how good it just makes you feel. Theres no doubt that sooner rather than later Murphy will be included in the leadership group (possibly next year). With Murphy's name added in ,you have the absolute pinacle of our team, all wrapped up in a nice big, talented blue bag.

Instead of bickering about who should and shouldn't be captain, just say those names. They were made to be together.

Luckily for our club, supporters have no say in whether Fev is kept or let go. Last season you wanted him out of the club. Just an example of someone changing their mind on a player, which is fine. But it can lead to much regret in hindsight.

I would have rathered Murph in there for this year, I was actually really surprised he wasn't in there as well.

The 'names' are fantastic when read like that but the point is whether Fevola is a good leader or not. Like I said earlier, he's a great player - when he's on he's ON and it pumps everyone up. His celebrations are exciting and contagious but he needs to learn to control his temper tantrums. There's a big difference with getting angry and fired up compared to dropping your head and slinking your shoulders. He desperately needs to control that before the younger players should be looking up to him as a serious leader of the club.
Ratts needs to get him sorted out on the field, get him completely off tv and concentrate on the footy.

The passion that comes along with being a supporter of a footy team often gets the better of me. I'm not the only one, and I certainly wasn't the only one at the time. :thumbsu:

Thank you for your suggestions MACFART but I do know what the word means. Do you want a tissue to wipe away your tears?? The point is, whether you want it, or whether I want it, or whether any of us give a shit, it's not our choice to be made.

The PLAYERS voted on who they WANTED.

I dont see what the problem is.

Go Blues.

As for the tissues no thanks I think I can get over it,

The point is though Fev has behaved appalingly on field at times last year and now all of a sudden he is in the leadership group, to me he does not belong there.

It makes no difference who voted him in ,I think of this club and its leaders and the names of kernahan, Silvagni and the like come to mind, not Fevola

Also AWG if I offended you in any way with the leadership / dictionary barb i do apologise Its just that I am full on passion when it comes to this club as I presume you are also
