News Lecras could return in 2012

That's the best news I've heard all year.

Come on french man, make a super quick recovery.:)

I just want to know what a team at our best is like.

Although if he does then we will have him and Kennedy limping into finals with no match fitness, which is a worry.

I would love to see it but not worth the risk. The only way I could see it happening is if we hit finals and lost someone like hill. They may risk it then. If we have Kennedy, Nico, hill, darling, lynch and hams in the team I can't see why we would bother bringing him back. having said that if he is fit enough and they are confident enough that the knee could get through all the twists and turns of a game then why not.

As much as I want us to win a flag this year, it would suck if we did and Lecras missed out. I'm hoping if we make the GF, Lecca can get himself up

It'd be absolutely staggering if he could. It's not like you can hide in the forward pocket anymore with defensive pressure being such a big part of the game. He took a while to get back to his best after missing three weeks with that groin strain last year. Even if he could be passed fit, would it really be worth it for one or two games?

He does have a knack of coming back from injuries earlier than expected so his body must heal reasonably fast. However it is a knee reco. Woosh admitted that players have come back after four months although playing at a high risk of re injuring, but refused to rule it out. Another words he is hoping as we do that Lecras may be a small chance.

If Lecras has anything to do with it there will be nothing small about it.;) IF this happens and it's still a big if, i will be smacking my lips together come finals. A forward line of Lynch, Lecras, Nicoski, Kennedy, Hill & Darling would have me doing cartwheels naked down my street.

For his goal sense, you betcha. The man can kick a goal from anywhere.

If they were confident he wouldn't do his knee again then it would definitely be worth it even for a couple games. Darling and hill have been great this year when being opposed to the top 2 defenders. Imagine what they could do against the third, fourth or fifth defenders not to mention lecca, nico and Kennedy would be good for at least 4 goals a game between them even if they weren't totally match fit.

Lecras could be back before Kennedy??? That's crazy.

Cant wait to have our full strength forward line back :)

He had his operation on the 22nd or 23rd of February so say he comes back round 23 and that game is scheduled for a friday night that would be the 31st of August. That would be 6 months. Not impossible. It will depend on how the rest of the year pans out but if we finish top 2 and get a home qualifying final and win that then that's another month before he would be needed. Never say never Lecca.

Even if he could snag two opportunistic goals, if his fitness isn't up to scratch it damages our ability to execute the press. If he's fit enough for that then of course I'd have no objection. It's just not as simple as bringing these guys straight in. Look at the Hawks with Hodge.

You could have said the same about Judd in the Qualifying final in 2007 against Port. But his two freak opportunistic goals nearly won us the game. If only Cuz hadn't pulled his hammy.:( Point is Judd was a cripple and yet his pure brilliance if only for a fleeting moment nearly did the job. Lecras might not have full match fitness but you wouldn't even select him as a sub and let him play a half? I would be all over that.

Would not think they would risk it. Would have to have been twisting and turn a LOT at training before he would be considered. Not to mention would have to be ahead in his recovery a decent bit. Essentially 6 months after a reco. Even if he doesnt make it back this year, its good to hear he is that far along in his recovery its even being considered. Could have been far worse like Anthony Morabito's where he was out for near on 18 months.

I initially thought it would be great for him to play early, but seeing what happened to other players who come back earlier than the 1 yr time line puts me off. A nice thought though.

I think the club will take the no/low risk approach. Which is likely an epic preseason followed by an AA season on a high HFF.

I'm backing Dick to string together some WAFL form, get into the team before Nicoski can, and then form an epic combination with Hill which will see Nicoski finish the year in the WAFL.

Lol have you guys never heard Woosh in a presser before? He always says stuff like this, of course LeCras COULD make a return this year, but he wont

Exactly. It's just Worsfold playing silly buggers. Maybe he wanted to generate headline that distracted everyone from the whole 'ducking' beat up.

Damien Barrett from rumours in Melbourne asked the question , Woosha tried to quash it but not flatten Lecras hopes at the same time .

Libba sucessfully returned after 16 weeks but he had legs like tree trunks .

I hope we can see Lecras in the long term rather then the short term but Lecca might be desperate to play !

Good point. I have blocked out all memory from the horrific game so I don't remember Judd's goals

Even a 75% Frenchman is still going to command a good defender which could be invaluable
