Reckon we are much of a chance for promotion?

It's so tight up at the top end of the championship it really is tough to predict how it well end. To compound the matter anybody really can beat anybody in this league, who would have predicted Scampaignerhorpe would beat Notts Forest.

If I was a betting man I'd bet Leeds make a play off place but fail to clinch promotion.

To be fair the side has come a long way in a short time & I for one am pretty pleased with the progress the club has made this season.

To think that a lot of people were suggesting this year should be a "consolidation year" in the CCC. Doing far better than expected for a promoted team (so are Norwich, but that's another matter).

Meanwhile, this leaky defence is becoming more of a problem. Surely our summer will be spent looking for a new centre back or two, or getting Patty K back on the park?

Grayson was interviewed by the local media post match and indicated that he would look to bring players in as a matter of urgency.

We seem to have tried a massive amount of different players at the back but still leak goals. Often simple mistakes lead to us conceding, for example last night we conceded from a free kick. The wall was in place but split to allow the shot through, pretty much a school boy error.

Paddy K is back in training up at Thorpe Arch HR.

Anyway for those interested links to last nights matchday programme below.

This makes me a little hard*

*no homo

Organising a trip for someone whose going to watch Leeds at Elland Road. Out of curiosity what is the ground actually like? Never been myself. Atmosphere/conditions/proximity good or not?

The stadium is looking a bit shabby these days & needs some investment to bring it up to scratch IMO.

It's located in Beeston which is far from the best area of the city. You can walk to the stadium from the city center (takes 20-30 mins).

The supporters are pretty close to the pitch, only a narrow cinder track between the stands and the turf.

When the crowd are up for it the atmosphere is outstanding. However sadly that's not always the case & for me the way some matches are stewarded is partly to blame.

For me best parts of the ground are the back of the KOP (N11) & the South Stand when given to home fans.

If your mate needs a hotel Bewelys in town is good value & close to town center & elland road. Usually a good number of Leeds fans staying in there on match weekends.

Hope that helps.

Bookmarked for future reference. Cheers man :thumbsu:

Coledinho the club does a stadium tour which I've heard good reports about although I've never done it myself. Costs £10 for adults, more details on the link below.

Also there was a piece in yesterdays matchday programme (I've pasted the piece below) which may be of intrest to your mate. It looks like it's designed for groups but who knows your mate might be able to make one in with another group.

I said earlier that Elland Road looked a bit rough round the edges, I read something the other day which demonstrates this quite well.

The people who made the film the Kings Speech needed to find a grandstand that looked like Wembley circa 1920's.

After much consideration the film makers decided the West Stand at Elland Road fitted the bill.

There is a local bus out to the ground too if you're not keen on doing the walk.

Shame about last night, would have jumped to 2nd if we'd managed to find a winner.

The matchday bus leaves town at Soverign Street (opposite the Hilton Hotel). Hang on to your ticket once you get to the ground, you will need to show this if you want the bus back into town. The bus back leaves from the car park behind the kop.

Links to pages from yesterday's programme below. Looks like Ken is looking forward to appearing before the parliamentary select committee, as usual he can't resist having a dig, this time Lord Triesman, Lord Mawhinney, Leeds United Supporters Club & Prince Andrew are all on the receiving end. It seems the club are also investigating ways to broadcast more 1st team games live on LUTV.

Not even going to get that.

Don't think we'd be too competitive in the PL anyway, consolidation season anyone?

To be honest we've had a far better season that I thought we would at the start. Tipped us for maybe a mid-table finish, to be in contention for the play-offs right up until the end was a solid effort. Becchio, Gradel, Schmeichel and Howson have been fantastic. Defense needs some work in the off-season, should give it a real crack next year.

Paddy Kisnorbo just came on as the sub. Good on him making his return from an awful injury, hopefully he can get some more games next year :thumbsu:
