Re: Leeds United Thread 07/08

wise off then
who do we want as a replacement?

I'd like Chris Coleman. But it won't happen because I'm sure he wouldn't want to manage a League 1 club when he'd probably receive better offers.

Re: Leeds United Thread 07/08

Dave Bassett 4 - Not going to happen.

Gary McAllister 4 - Ex-Leeds but has been out of work for close a number of years.

Micky Adams 8 - What has he ever done?

Paul Ince 8 - I'm sure the ex-Man Utd links would go down a treat. Many Lees fans hated Wise because of the Chelsea connection, they'd fair dinkum lose their minds if Ince was appointed.

John Sheridan 9 - Another Ex-Leeds (notice the correlation) who has done a good job at Oldham.

Steve McClaren 10 - Lives in the area but would he manage a League 1 club? After his England failure I'm sure some fans would have it in for him from the start.

Andie Ritchie 12 - Another ex-Leeds. Been around a few clubs and has a solid record in this league. Possible.

Glen Hoddle 12 - F**k off.

Gary Speed 14 - Ex-Leeds but lacks managerial experience. Would be a fairly popular choice though.

Chris Coleman 14 - Unemployed and has done a good job in tough circumstances. Young, likeable person who commands respect. My number one choice. Won't happen though.

Adi Boothroyd 14 - Why would he leave Watford? I know he's an ex-Leeds assistant manager but he could be back in the EPL next season.

Gianluca Vialli 14 - No thanks. Only mentioned because of the Bates link.

Billy Davies 16 - F**k off. Job Done!

Martin Allen 16 - Not a bad shout either. Good record at this level and wouldn't come with the hefty price tag.

David O'Leary 16 - HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

Lawrie Sanchez 16 - Please. This guy thought David Healy was premiership standard. Enough said.

Sam Allardyce 16 - Would cost too much.

Steve Cotterill 20 - Did okay at Burnley and has a reasonable record at the level. Can't rule him out.

Terry Venables 25 - HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

Neil Warnock 25 - HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA x 200. Despised by Leeds fans but another with a possible EPL gig next season.

Gordon Strachan 33 - No way he'd leave Celtic.

Eddie Gray 40 - Not manager material anymore

Howard Wilkinson 50 - See above.

Kevin Blackwell 66 - That'd go down as well as the Ince signing. He's had his chance but was found wanting when it mattered.

Re: Leeds United Thread 07/08

gary mac got very close in the process that ended up seeing wise get the job
would not be suprised to see him get the gig
of the others, i think Billy Davies would be a huge chance, the job done thing will blow over and hes more realistic than some of the others

Preferences
Allardyce
Coleman
Davies
Sheridan

Re: Leeds United Thread 07/08

its official now Drewie. we also lost again overnight and we are now 6th. we really need to get back to our winning ways and ensure this promotion.

Re: Leeds United Thread 07/08

Leeds look set to sign Anthony Elding from stockport
striker who has scored 15 goals this season, relatively cheap too

Apparently we'll make another signing before the day is out, praying for Ljubo, hope i wake up to good news:thumbsu:

You would have woken up very happy then, drewie! Lubo in for a rumoured £500,000 and signing a 3 1/2 year deal.

Elding signed a 2 1/2 year deal, while we also secured left back Alan Sheehan from Leicester on loan until the end of the season.

Re: Leeds United Thread 07/08

Hopefully McAllister can rejuvinate our season as right now it looks like we're going nowhere fast.

Happy we finally landed Lubo.

Re: Leeds United Thread 07/08

oh i woke up delighted with the capture of lubo
now all we need is angola to be eliminated and we'll have rui and lubo wat a partnership

Still think we may see a striker come in on loan, we apparently have tried to get Mcleoud from charlton a couple of times, but they rebuffed due to injuries to other strikers, would be a cracking loan

Re: Leeds United Thread 07/08

Sammy Lee apparently coming in as gary mac's assistant
Very good number 2 and chuffed with the appointment

Re: Leeds United Thread 07/08

What was the score last night?

Don't know what is happeneing with Leeds, I thought you guys were going to cruise to promotion. In a big hole at the moment, form wise.

You've done it now, mentioning Dennis

They got lucky at the start of the season, they got on the wave of "Marching on together" and "We don't care what people think" then teams started working them out, Wise showed a lack of experienced with regards to tactics and the big test would be coming back from a form slump.and they're struggling atm.

:D :thumbsu: :)

They really look to be in a slump. Swansea are a mile out in front, and look certain to win the league. Leeds' season is falling faster and faster with every match that goes by.

Re: Leeds United Thread 07/08

theyll hold up
as prices are now affordable
what many dont realise, leeds fans were paying more to watch CCC football than all but 6 premiership teams last season. Those being the big 4 + tottenham & toon
We'll always be marching on together and hated, is the way it should be
I dont think we'll go up this season, but having re-read the first couple of pages on this thread, we've now achieved safety, and i would of taken that at the start of the season

Re: Leeds United Thread 07/08

I think once Rui Marques comes back from the African Nations Cup, he along with Lubomir Michalik will make the back four as solid as it was at the begginning of the season.

Re: Leeds United Thread 07/08

oh and im already planning for a trip for a potential playoff final
Going up automatically would be awesome, but i cant see it currently
A day out at Wembley with 50k leeds fans...bliss;)
