Re: Leeds United Thread 07/08

beckford elbowed behind play..nothing seen of course
no need to start making excuses..if anything leeds have all the right to make excuses, we've been screwed royally a few times already this season...theres time for more:p

We don't have any money to buy players, we actually pay our bills ;)

But if we lose we aren't good enough, simple really.

Still we have 7 local kids in the 1st team how many you got? :p

local?
you must be joking...birdseye bates has sold off our best youth to the pedos at white hart lane. we're a reasonably young team though
That dean hammond sounds to be quite a lively type:thumbsu:

POTY last season, been shite this year so far.

Our 2 most influential mid are out today, Dean Cox and George O'.

Watch out for Adam El-Abd he's just as likely to break someones leg.

But we have no creativity in the middle today with Martot and El-Abd both defensive mid and Savage a striker being played OOP on the wing.

We also miss our aussie maestro Paul Reid who's still comming back from a massive knee injury.

We only bought 2 players in so we can't expct much.

Re: Leeds United Thread 07/08

Sounded like a dreadful game where it was going to take a mistake to find a result. Fortunately we were on the right end of it and got the win.

Shit performance, but we got the 3 points and that is all that matters. We're up to 9th, 6 points off top and only one game out of the playoffs.

Millwall up next at home and a great chance for another win to move closer to the automatic promotion spots.

Re: Leeds United Thread 07/08

umm actually they arent... last time i heard we were easily selling out every home game.

Unless Bates has sold off a stand or two I'd suggest thats not actually the case.

Capacity over 40k from memory, a quick check of your home attendances shows an average over just over 27k. From memory it's an improvement over last years attendances, but I guess you're winnning a few games now.

Re: Leeds United Thread 07/08

There are redevelopments been done at elland rd just so you know moomba, so capacity is not 40,000... is closer to 30,000!!

They will easily sell out this week, and many more weeks to come. Capacity will be whatever the figure is on the weekend

Re: Leeds United Thread 07/08

Nice gift of a goal for Tres, sounds like the game could have gone either way.

And yes, they've sold nearly 25k tickets already for the Millwall game according to the club website.

Re: Leeds United Thread 07/08

Kishishev returns on a one month loan deal
good signing

just on the attendance, moomba is half right, east stand upper is not open due to their not being the demand, we save apparently 30k a game in stewarding costs etc to keep it shut
this takes the attendance to 33k, cut that by a further 2 thousand with some works that are going on in the west stand..

Re: Leeds United Thread 07/08

Is that right? So why wouldnt they consider opening the east stand upper this week?? They should easily get 31,000 in, so wouldnt it make sense to open it. I was under the impression it was not able to be used for the entire season??

Because the upper east stand has been closed for quite a while, things like safety certificates and public liability insurance may not be up to date. To get this up to date would proberbly take 2-3 weeks notice.
