It just typifies the quality of sports journalism in this country they're always looking for the negative angle to a news story! For instance most of the focus coming out of last Friday night's match was on Franklin's knee. Of course it was newsworthy but for it to dominate the sports media landscape for the next 48 hours was a joke. The fact that Geelong had made it through to a 5th straight Prelim final was largely lost in the wash.....
Every opportunity they've had over the past decade to sink the boots in over a poor performance from Leon they have. Now that he's played such a brilliant match they don't want to go near it.
If they're waiting for him to put together a full finals series before writing about him I'll let it slide, however I won't be holding my breathe on that front!

Leon was magic against West Coast.
I'm just spewing we've made this move at the END of his career.
I PRAY he stays on for one more year under Bucks.

2 more wins with Leon playing well, that would be bliss.
So hoping he plays on with us next year, coming back having played in a winning GF would be special.
Hasn't kicked a goal for a little while, need to get forward Leon and put one through the big sticks, always gets everyone super pumped.

If we win the GF I reckon he will retire, maybe the Norm Smith shining proudly around his neck too would be a nice finish to a sensational career. Go forward and snag a goal would be sweet dessert for him. Then maybe everyone (including pies supporters) who has had a dig at him will finally pay some respect to Magic.

Leon with Norm Smith after being dropped for last year's Grand Final would be the PERFECT end to the season. Couldn't be better.
(Well, I wouldn't mind Leigh Brown getting it either

If we win this year, it's most likely that the first two numbers called out for the medal presentation will the redemption of two once-maligned Black and White stars.
Will be hard for the crowd to keep the roar up after those first two.

Don't really mind who wins the premiership this year, think obviously Pies/Cats GF is deserved and don't mind who wins it. So I'm just trying to say I'm happy enough to whoever wins, just want to see a 'feel good' story.
A Neon Leon special in the GF resulting in a Norm Smith would be awesome, and I will be cheering it on if it looks possible.
Would be a magnificent end to a very good career, and would easily wipe away past memories.
Come on Leon!

I'm constantly amazed at how small, opportunistic forwards go missing in finals, as we've seen with Milne and Lecras this finals series.
Loving the move of Leon this year, I firmly believe his skills have been under-utilised in the forward line to date, though thoroughly entertaining.
I much prefer the system of having no full-time forward pockets anymore, all are capable of rotating through the midfield and much more likely to stay in the game during finals.

Leon has played plenty of good finals in the past.
