Love watching him do so well.

I think all Magpies fans feel the same way, we struggled so much to see a talented player, not really playing his role to the best we thought he could.

I still think his goal was THE circuit breaker of the 2010 GF - got us back into thinking we should win the game. His touches in that game, while minimal, were generally creating goal opportunities.

It wasn't his fault the matchups were stuffed at the selection panel (meaning we didn't have the moves to shut down Goddard).

I'd love to see Davis and Tarrant rewarded, but remember, it's been 70+ years since the Pies have gone back-to-back. Will take a massive amount of work from here to do it, but we are certainly capable.

Pretty obvious move really, he's not really built to take the battering you get as an AFL forward, moving him down back means he is more the hunter than the hunted now and is thriving.

Love Leon. Always have. Unfairly maligned for failing to fire in Finals.
His skills are sublime when he's on. He just happens to be one of those players who has had a couple of down days under the spotlight.

Reiwoldt seems to get overlooked for a serve with a similar record funnily enough?

The major thing is his speed!! Makes him look like he was running on the spot at times last year! Haha, glad he's doing so well.

Doing very well in his new role, I'm liking the way he goes about it, and definitely adds some line breaking skills to the half back line.

His "apparent" failure in big finals games is what opposition fans will keep harping on until he rectifies it. Hopefully this year he will dismiss those suggestions by playing out the rest of the year at the level he is at the moment.

Have been super impressed with Leon this year.

Heard him on 3AW yesterday and he was saying it's harder to play in the backline simply because you have to be fitter and run more.

Watching live you really see his gut running that you wouldn't normally assoicate with him, he pushes forward real well but seems to always get back to the right spots and initiate another forward thrust.

The perfect thing about playing in defense during finals will be that he doesn't have to get the ball or kick goals to have a good game either, just limit his opponent. It's the perfect role for him.

Absolutely delighted with Leon this year, has been a joy to watch playing down back after I had reservations about his ability to make the switch. In the NAB Cup he was handballing back into play like a forward when the defender's mindset would be to carry the ball over the line for the throw-in... but he eventually made the adjustment while managing to create a great deal of offense.

Sensational job, Leon! :thumbsu: :)

You'd forgive Leon if he'd dropped his bundle a bit this year, ahving been such a long term part of Collingwood's team over the last decade, then getting himself dropped for GF replay.

He'd have been so keen to erase 2002/2003 and replace them with winning memories.

Also, he kicked a hugely important goal in GF1 and would have been gutted being left out the following week.

It tells a lot about his character, as well as his footy abilities, that he's bounced back this year so well.

Very happy for him.

Wonder what the chances are he'll kick on next year?

He is running around like a giddy teenager again but with the skills and poise of the veteran he is. Just fantastic to watch. A real credit to just get on with business after 2010 and show everyone the best way possible he still has plenty. Also a credit to the club to help reinvent him and add more depth to a great list.

Love to see him win a Norm Smith.

And a

HAPPY BIRTHDAY

wish today for Leon
