I'd like to propose a new self-governing rule regarding talking about umpiring.
I think we can agree that we don't go to the footy to talk about the umps, we can also agree that 99% of the time umpires decisions don't make a team win or lose.
Given that, I would like to see the Adelaide Board drop any discussion about the umps in match day or match review threads. It doesn't require any football knowledge to slag off at the umps, generally its people who don't understand the rules that are the first to have a crack so really it makes people look less knowledgeable. The umps don't go out to be bias and given peoples differing opinion on what they want from them its always going to be a lose-lose situation for them.
Please don't start talking about extreme results or decisions because whilst not irrelevant they don't need to be the basis of discussion.
What do people think, can we have a board that eliminates the need to discuss umpiring?
