Some St. Kilda supporter in the bay claimed that they had more supporters at the game last Friday. Also claimed that our supporters left and didn't cheer off Simmonds, others continued on and claimed we have bandwagon supporters??

I'm sure every club has bandwagon supporters, but Richmond is different. Some people like this journey on the way up, but many (although their hearts are still with the Tigers) are sick of getting let down. So they ignore footy, period. On Richmond's best day, we could get 70,000 against the Eagles, we have such a strong supporter base, if we do get 22,000, then thats embarressing!

People are tipping the attendance this week to be around 22,000 against the Eagles.

I'm fairly certain we can get over 30, we are a genuine chance this week, we are actually favourites.

So please, get your wives, husbands, friends, children, girlfriends, boyfriends, wear yellow and black and lets cheer the boys on, because they have made great progress this year, and deserve to get cheered off after a solid win this week (hopefully). :thumbsu::thumbsu:

Some people underestimate the Richmond fans even though our team has been struggling we still manage to get a good crowd per game.

I also don't believe Richmond has many bandwagon supporters I find most of us support the club regardless, and very unlikely to switch teams.

CNB, I agree we can get at least 30,000 this week.

No we couldn't. That would only happen if we were flag favourites playing them in a grand final rematch. Collingwood wouldn't even get 70,000 against them.

We ussually get around 30,000 against the interstate clubs at the G, so we should be fine.

I left at half time...........

to get a pint at The Nixon:D

Funny all the supporters in there giving me the glare as though I'd left the game dumb arses.

I was there to get a pint at civilised prices and not half filled with water.

Then I made my journey back to the Etihad.

Maybe this St.Kilda supporter made an assumption from me or others that go out and drink real beer at a pub at half time?

Or maybe they'd like to work for the HUN?:D

Let's not forget the Saints are firmly entrenched in the top 4.

I dont see how we are favourites tbh. Yes our form has improved from the start of the year, and west coast hasnt been travelling to well, but i dont get why we should be labelled favourites.

Huge chance for a win this week. There is absolutely no reason we can't walk away with the points, especially with the huge INs we've got.

Ill be there in spirit, but im stuck in bias Adelaide where the 5aa crew reckon Crows are heading for the flag again :p

we can meet there for an ale
Bloody oath. My two mates pulled out of the trip a month ago and I already had everything booked. Will be up there on my own and don't mind a bit. Will have to organise something before the game.

That idiot lady(?) who posted that thread on the Bay can get stuffed. Troll us all you like but the fan base and crowd size is one thing we can never be bagged about, and from a St Kilda supporter, REALLY???? Is this the part where I say "join date September 2009 lol" and "Where were you when you were shit?" because that would probably be appropriate. Assuming that "Charlotte" is female, that just makes it embarrassing for other women such as myself who try to get their football opinions taken seriously. Oh and **** me dead, after a little research I find that in the past decade, the lowest our average yearly crowd has sunk to was 34,000 in 04 after finishing last......yet in St Kilda's best year over the past 10 years, last year... 34,000 was THEIR yearly av attendance.

So in the past decade our shittest = their best. Some people should think before saying things:rolleyes:

Also - Etihad is St Kilda's home ground, not ours, despite it being our home game that night. Many Richmond supporters hate Etihad as expressed on these boards frequently. Supporters of all teams go home early, and personally I did not notice this Friday night. But it doesn't surprise me if some Tigers did leave without staying to farewell Simmo, because the players were fartarsing around on the ground for that long, I was beginning to wonder if they were even going to chair him off. End rant.

From the other night I know I left once the saints song started, what I wont to know was why were the Saints fans leaving while their songs was playing. I would never do that after a win.

Did you miss any of the game? Sounds like an ok thing to do at HT, but the Nixon is a fair way away.

On a side note, have you had a meal there before? Almost had dinner there last Friday night but the prices looked a bit expensive.

I'll be there on Sunday. Won't get anywhere near 70,000. 30,000 would be great.

We do... but we also have far more true supporters than most teams that turn out week in week out. When we actually start making finals you will see the bandwagoners come back. These are the people that go to a couple of games a year like the Cousins game etc..

Oh and #32kingcuz.. lol well said. Although I wouldn't make excuses for people leaving early... one thing I absolutely hate seeing is people leaving either before the final siren or before a guy who has played his last game gets chaired off. ffs wait 5 mins and just walk a bit quicker out of the ground. Won't make much difference.

Flying in to Melbourne for the West Coast Game this week.

This will be the first Richmond game I have seen live since the early 1990's IIRC.

Then I am flying up to Brisbane to see the Tigers at the Gabba.

Wasn't trying to make an excuse - it was just the only reason I could think why people would not stay for that. But whether ya like it or not it happens all the time. Worked the North/Brisbane game the other night and some lady was saying "If they (North) get another goal in the next few minutes I'm leaving" before half time. And so she did. When I'm working I always hear people mumbling stuff about getting to the train before the crowd, or they're taking their shitty little children home, or because they don't wanna hear the other team's song or they're just shit sports. I have been late to games many times but have never left early and never want to! Win or loss it feels good to be there and clap the boys off the ground.
