That term has always annoyed me.

Every team I believe (Although I haven't done the maths) At this point in time has a mathematical chance of making the finals. I think (like I said I haven't done the maths) That Geelong and Saints are a mathematical certainty. Although looking at it maybe not They only have 12 wins.

Actually lets assume that at this point no team is a mathamatical certainty to make the finals. And the West Coast Eagles are not mathmatically certain to miss the finals.

Now that being said, Every team has a mathematical chance of making the finals. But the "mathematical" part is completely unnecessary.

Simply EVERY TEAM CAN MAKE THE FINALS. AND EVERY TEAM CAN MISS THE FINALS.

We'd probably need to win all of our remaining matches, minimum 6 out of 7 to be any realistic chance.

I think we're likely to drop a few games in the run home. Collingwood, St Kilda are almost definite losses, Carlton a probable loss, then the rest are about 50/50 in my book.

We're coming from too far back, if we'd pinched a win or two earlier in the season then maybe, but not now I don't think. Every game is almost an "elimanation final".

Lets keep being competitive, playing good football, and look to 2011 where we could aim for a lower spot in the 8. Still all about development though rather than the scoreboard.

Yeah had we won that game against Hawthorn I might be able to consider it a possibility. We would then be a game and percentage out of the eight (two games).
