Won't be leaving if he has any say in it:

Casboult, from the Victorian town of Beaconsfield, grew up a Blues supporter. His favourite player initially was ''skinny'' Matthew Lappin, admitting, with a smile, that there ''wasn’t really a like for like there''.

It is likely Casboult can expect an offer of a two or three-year contract extension when negotiations with the Blues intensify. ''I grew up a Carlton supporter. If the opportunity arises, I definitely want to hang around,'' he said.

Sounds like you've already given it away a while back.

Probably for the best, really. The club doesn't need supporters who revel in it's failures.

Far from revelling, just stating facts which is something a lot of posters conveniently forget. We are one game clear from the bottom of the ladder talking about a player that cannot kick and who is developing slowly and everyone wants to throw money at him. Assuming Kreuzer gets over his injury it is very unlikely Mick will play three talls. He has not succeeded as a forward. Are you seriously suggesting we cannot do better?

No, I'm suggesting you can do better with your posting, although given your recent form I'm starting to think I was misguided on that front.

We know you are bitter and that you'll jump at any opportunity to take a swipe at the club, but in case you didn't notice this is a "Toast" thread designed to show appreciation for the good form of an inexperienced senior footballer.

As I wouldn't want to curtail your creative genius there are a number of threads specifically in place for you to vent to your hearts content. This is not one of those places. Either do it there where people can choose whether or not they wish to read your drivel, or don't do it at all.

I disagree. We just would've had to have paid overs and given him a game in the seniors each week. With hindsight you'd say that wouldv'e been a worthy investment, but at the time? He was no better or worse than our other rucks.

Don't really agree with this. In his final year at Carlton he showed more than the other rucks had. I thought the big mistake was leaving him out of the game at Subi, on what seemed to be the belief he would be a liability on the bigger ground. He was our in-form ruck at the time and the coach should have backed his player. I reckon this is when the seeds of not getting a fair run would have started sprouting in Jacob's mind.

Hampson was seen to have more upside at the time.

Bygones be bygones. Sam has gone on to bigger and better things and seemed to relish the contest with Robbie Warnock a few weeks ago. :thumbsu:

(We'd be laughing if McCarthy had turned into a semi-decent player. Alas...)

If he continues his current form then I'd suspect he may want a little bit more than that.

KPP's naturally demand more money due to their rarity.

Lets be real, Levi wouldn't be in the category of guys atm DEMANDING more money than 325k per year...

He knows he owes a lot to Carlton for sticking with him and developing him. He owes us his career.
325k is an obscene amount of money for a 23-24 year old (forgot how old he is). Most ppl that age earn what? 50k a year? Not even that.

He hasn't grown up all his life as this super talented, entitled youngster. He has had to do it the hard way which is great and there is no way he would demand more than 325k. That is generous enough as he has only just started playing regularly and still has lots to learn.

Maybe in 2 years time we will be talking 500k a year in his next contract if he keeps improving.

Chris Dawes is getting well over 600 mate and he is a above average forward at best.

If Levi is kicking bags here and there then I don't see why he should get paid that much less then the likes of Waite (400k).

What is the bolded supposed to mean anyway? Plenty of blokes out there who are getting paid truck loads after they struggled early.

Of course they do like Dawes and Crameri, I know that.

The thing is Casboult isn't kicking bags here and there currently. First time he has kicked 4 goals in a match. Would be nice if he was getting a higher amount of shots on goal as well, though he does pinch hit in the ruck. Has only just started stringing games together this year. As good as he has been and as much as he has improved, he still has a long way to go.

At the end of the day im not saying that he's no good i love the guy and see a big future for him with us, what im saying is that 325k is more than enough for his current level of output and development. Can talk 500k in a few years if he keeps improving.

I said if he is kicking bags here and there. Season is only half over.

No arguments with anything else. I'd expect Cas to hit the scoreboard more often though since he is likely to be elevated in our KPF's pecking order with Hendo playing injured and Waite's playing like Pods.

Jeremias, putting the shoosh in loquacious.
What did I tell you MEB? The master at work. What is known in the trade as a withering response. Good stuff Jez.
