im gonna go out now and make this statement:

if Kane Lucas isn't available at 7 the eagles will select jetta. (assuming morabito, scully, trengrove etc have been taken)

Can some of you elaborate further on his performance today?

It sounds as if he had a blinder.

No, stay away.

But really I'll leave it to someone else, I was too busy hurling abuse at him for beating my team.

I dont Think we Need Kane Lucas we already have Masten Swift Ebert Rosa Selwood and so on if lewis test well at camp eagles will pick him up using pick 7 like Freo did with Stephen Hill who everybody though would Go 15 to 20 early last year

Amen brother, this person knows what they are on about. How many players can still hit a target whilst running at, or near, full tilt. Pull the trigger is now my answer.

May be a big call, only seen him a couple of times but I seriously think Jetta is arguably the best kick in this draft. He can kick 50+ without much effort, has the ability to check his kick at the last minute and hit a target. Great touch over a range of distances and can either spear or lob a pace depending on the situation. Add to that the vision he has and for me should very much be in the discussion.

Add to that his blistering pace and ability to find the footy without what seems like much of tank, he is a very exciting prospect. I'd happily use a first rounder on him even if he is 2 years old than most prospects.

Still fairly timid in his approach on the footy, understandable considering his body and i think he could work a little harder defensively throughout a whole game. A pre-season i think will do him a world of good in improving these issues though.

Great post Cruiser. He was outstanding today in his first finals match at WAFL level. The most impressive thing for mine was he didn't flash in and out of the game but played a solid (brilliant at times) 4 quarters of footy.
The goal in the last was a combo of brilliant anticipation, 1 touch pickup, blinding acceleration and class finishing.
He is firming to a first rounder for mine, the go home factor may keep the Vic clubs away so if the Eagles don't get him at 7 I hope we do with our second rounder.

Sad to say it, but one would struggle to disagree.

Lewis would be a great fit at Melbourne should we draft him.

How has he been going most recently?
Terribly. Rubbish player. Move on, nothing to see here.

(Do you think that worked?)

Attacking wingman/forward flank
Cheers happy_eagle,

I'm quietly hoping that none of the top sides like WB, STK, Geelong or Adelaide don't take him, otherwise I don't think he will be a very good fantasy pick.

Lewis is now the worst kept secret going around.

I wouldn't be surprised if he was gone before Melbourne's second rounder. One thing that may prevent that from happening is his age, but I'm starting to have my doubts.

Anyway, if he is taken prior to out second rounder, hopefully that will increase the chances of a good KPF sliding to our pick.

So again, yesterday, how did he go?

BOG. Kicked 3 goals from the wing

Far out looks very good. Would not mind him with our first rounder at all. The only query would be his slight frame. If he can just bulk up a tad (not too much otherwise he'll lose his speed/agility) hen he'll be one fine player. Such a smooth mover.

Hope he does get picked up by the eagles early at pick 7, so the other clubs don't waste their time...sounds like his in love with the club (eagles).

Looks exciting though and anyone would seriously have to look at him from the middle of the first to the second round.

How many Jetta's will that be in the AFL then?

There's lots of debate about that on our board. The consensus seems to be if we had a late first rounder it'd be about right, and we might be reaching at 7. Might be worth us downgrading our first rounder if we can pick up a handy trade but those strategies are risky, and I doubt the club would do it with 1 specific player in mind.

uh huh.

What happens when Geelong take him at 15? They have shown interest in players of that type recently.

best thing is he plays he's best in big games...

he was BOG in the state match against SA and now he's shredding it in the wafl finals - would rather him than a lot of other highly rated youngsters, and would be very happy if eagles got him at 7

What makes Jetta a better AFL prospect than Winmar who is just 18 and might have more upside with his build?

Is Jetta going to fill out?

Neville Jetta is bigger than Jeff Garlett who is a rake...

Take him early so we can get someone we need with eleven or Winmar with our second rounder. ;)
