LGBTQIW round in 2018 - a possibility?

I strongly believe (and hope) that a LGBTQIW theme round is a possibility in 2018, especially after Good Friday football finally eventuated this year.

What are the major obstacles preventing the AFL from instituting a LGBTQIW round next year?

No, I think the Pride Game between the Saints and Swans is sufficient. A whole round would be a much I think.

I definitely hope the Pride Game is permanent though, as an LGBT fan of AFL it was a really special thing to see.

This is all getting beyond ridiculous. People need to start focusing on the things that really matter. I think Australians are getting sick and tired of corporations like the AFL running social campaigns like this. Instead, how about "make poverty history" round? An "end third world debt" round? A "fund research to stop kids dying of cancer" round? Seriously, enough with this indulgent first world bull@$#% already.

There might not be enough money in it.

That would be the biggest hurdle to such a round. The AFL would have zero concerns with any other possible obstacle as long as it made money.

If they think they can make money, they will jump on the wagon.

I am going to say no and always no to a round dedicated to an acronym you need a degree to interpret. It 100% defeats the purpose of having it to begin with.
