Rd 8.Richmond vs. Hawthorn, Sunday 16th of May, 2010 at 1.10pm
Richmond 13.8 (86) def. by Hawthorn 13.11 (89)
After a 7 game losing steak against even sides that would turn out to be worse than us that season, Dimma left Adelaide and said 'I've had enough of this'
All week long they were calling for Dimma's head saying he won't take us anywhere.
That game against Hawthorn was our turning point.
LINE IN THE SAND.
The week after we showed another game full of determination and spirit but lost to Essendon by roughly 40 or so points, but it wasn't the final scored anybody cared about. Correct me if I'm wrong, but for the 2nd week in a row we clapped the boys off the ground with a standing applause after the match.
Two weeks after the hawks loss, we went to Port raging with even moreconfidence and determination and we won.
Just made the thread as a bit of a toast to all the staff, players and fans at tigerland because we were all involved. Also to aware those of when it was that we went from being compared to Fitzroy for 7 weeks straight, to being suddenly seen as a team to look out for in the years to come.
I'm not saying we've made it, but I haven't seen us play so well consistently (despite losing) in over 10 years.
In Dimma we trust.
Cliffs for those who want to skip the reading
- in 2010 we had a losing streak
- lost to hawthorn (one of the best sides in the comp) should have won but stuffed it up at the end, played an awesome game
- that match was the turning point, we beat port two weeks later
- most promising we've looked in 10 years or so
