Are there any mature age tall backmen in the WAFL/SANFL/VFL that could come be depth?

I think that Jones is gone this year thanks to Peter "Ruthless" Bell, Meek should stay as development, he could be a perfect back up ruckman. Sandi will be gone by the end of next year and i doubt Nads we'll make it. Lobb will be here then

We are overloaded with short people that don't have the attributes to overcome their smallness. Matera, Switkovski, Crowden, Giro, Ballantyne. Baffling to bring 4 of them in at once, and miss the one (Zac Langdon) that actually has that spark you are looking for from a midget. Horrible list management.

Langdon was selected before Switkovski, Crowden or Giro.

To get Langdon we would needed to pick him over Dixon. Or have got him in a previous draft.

Yeah, this is the issue.

Sonny Walters is small but he's so good it's irrelevant.

But Giro is a big one. He's one of the four or five shortest on the list and probably in the bottom four or five kicks. Not just a 'getting used to the pressure and time' bad kick, just makes average choices and cannot kick past 20 metres so loses all his accuracy.

I didn't mind getting Matera but he's done. Rubbish set shot, has the Danyle Pearce yips when he gets the ball under pressure, and goes missing for entire halves.

Ballantyne is complete insanity. I don't like Sandilands but if our best young ruck says he'd be a big hand, that's fine. But what in the **** is Hayden Ballantyne going to offer? He was done after the Grand Final and he's been a shade of himself since then. Should have been gone going into 2017. Shocking decision.

I don't really 'get' Crowden yet but it's early days. Switkowski has played, what, four games? I'll wait and see on that before calling him a list clogger.

The main issue is our reluctance to cut blokes who are 25 this season, have never really had break out matches, haven't improved, and haven't even made a position their own: Tom Sheridan, Apeness, Sutcliffe, Hughes. Those last two showed something as half-backs who could hold off their man and then race up the ground, look up, and try and get the play going up there. That's been entirely coached out of them unfortunately.
