Mojo do you think that Setanta could do the bustling and bundling rough stuff in the forward line. Split packs perhaps shepherding ?.
Basically doing some of the heavy duty physical bone crunching stuff that Lance and Fev do. Does he have the grunt ?
This would be a great for the goal kickers taking the heat off them.

Can't say I've seen much of Fev and Lance doing much bone-crunching shephards and tackles in the forward 50. You're right though, we need someone to do this and Setanta is physical and enjoys the body-on-body stuff so maybe he's the man in 2006 to do this. Would be surprised if he plays more than 15 games though (but I hope he does!).

Bmaurizo,

Setanta is not really a bustling physical player at this stage of his development. He does not use all of his height or size to dominate. He competes and is a clean ball player whose only objecive is the ball. No 'accidental' elbows from him or a 'clumsy' slip to fall on a player.

If the ball is there he goes for it and wont think about if he can hurt someone. He has to develop that side of his game. So zoning off defenders and opponents know that if they take up his space and the ball is in the area that he is coming and they will have to either brace themselves for an all might collision or take a few shorter steps. To not duck his head in marking contests and push back even harder into his opponent when he has to. Its the hardest skills to learn and if you watch Taigh Kennelly from the Swns its not something he is accustomed to either.

Fevola is a physical player but with his limited endurance and 188cms he cant play CHF and be in the play enough to throw his weight around. He is one of the few on our list who likes to do it. Lance is a touch player who likes space and is not a great contester. Give him couple of meters space and he is dangerous.

We drafted the player we needed this year in Josh Kennedy. He is physical and enjoys that side of the game. Is naturally big and has a big frame and has the endurance and height to play CHF. Big in the legs and wide shoulders and given a year in the gym after a shoulder operation he will be huge. He is a bit skinny on his upper body yet but when he fills out his upper body to match his legs he will be the target we will aim at constantly.
