Rusling - hurts too say but the bloke is too injury prone

Bryan - Cant see him getting back in now that wood has cemented his spot

Retire

Rocca :( - same as rusling and age isnt gonna help him

Lockyer - seen better days

obree - turns over too much

presti - go out on a high mate , a club legend but is getting abit too slow

Trade

not sureReid , Cook , Cox

It pains me to say, but I agree with Presti, go out on a high, because the last few weeks he has seemed a bit out of touch and before he embaressess himself e.g. Rocca.

Can't believe I am saying that.

Although, I can't think of anyone who is "ready" for AFL yet.

yea they have been great servants of the club
but its best for both partys that they move on

only my opinion

relax will ya its my opinion

i was just throwing him into the mix , i agree he was great all year but i think his played his best football

I'm sorry but Lockyer just has to be told his time is over. He just can't cut it against quality teams. Is just simply too small, not strong enough, and too slow when the big teams come to play. To play 200 games plus was in my opinion 150 too many.

Toovey gives it 100% but he was overlooked in a draft proper after being an All-Australian for good reason. He just doesn't have what it takes to develop into a top liner. His skills don't stand up in the heat of battle. Toovs i love his workrate but this AFL level sorts out the battlers as you get deeper into September.

L Brown, decent finals series by his own standards, but the club needs to aim higher to win the big games. Is not a good enough mark for his size, is slow as treacle and his kicking for goal is more miss than hit. I know Malthouse had pretty much a different role for him each week but surely Ben Reid could've fulfilled that role and done a much better job at it, and getting valuable games pumped into him.

O'Bree has been a tireless workhorse for 10 years, but he will be 31 in March and this club needs better than that. He wouldn't be in the best 40 midfielders in the game and we need better than that.

Presti, hard one to analyse whether to keep. This is all depending on N Brown being ready to completely take over the role. N Brown's injury mid-season prevented him from doing that role.

Leon, ridiculous the rubishing he is receiving. He laid 8 tackles last night! He was zoned out of the game and received little or no help from the other forwards. Definite keep, guys with his skills dont grow on trees.

Stanley, delist. I was a fan early days, but watching him more at VFL level, he just has some bad habits he can't stamp out when he gets promoted. Query on pace too in the big time.

Cox I would keep. He just needs to get serious about his fitness. His skills are very sound and is generally a good decision maker.

Rocca, I love the big bloke, but unfortunately at his age, his body can't take much more.

Rusling, possible trade if we can improve our position, otherwise i would keep.

Cook, tough one. If he put a bit of bulk on, he could possibly be a good fringe player.

Have hope for Reid, Reed, McCarthy, Blight and Keefe. I think we have a pretty strong list. Dawes is a hard one to assess. He needs to use his bulk more in contests and back himself more. Also, that bent kicking action worries me with him.

Just also finally, Thoolen is close to the worst footballer i have seen pull on those stripes. Not sure whose decision it was to rookie him after the delisting last season.

hit the nail on the head

scott reed got alot of ball yesterday in the 2's but efficiency was shite

Delist Rusling? If we dont keep him a trade is a bare minimum. If you didnt notice our forward line was shithouse on Sat night.

Why the hell should Presti retire? Been one of our best defenders all year. Who will take over FB? Nathan Brown? Have you seen his form lately?

And why on earth should we trade Ben Reid? Has huge potential and has been amongst our best all year in the VFL. Will be in our best 22 next year.

Thoolen is close to the worst footballer i have seen pull on those stripes.

At least he's not as bad as Matthew Lokan :D...nevertheless, delist. Can anybody PLEASE tell me what the hell is going on with Marty Clarke? If he goes I don't know what I'll do. Rocca, O'Bree, Presti and Lockyer all won't go until they retire, just how it is...anyway, Bryan and Cook are probably 2 very useful depth players on our list, especially if Fraser (heaven forbid :o) breaks down completely for an extended period of time.

Goodbye: Rocca, Cook, Stanley, Corrie, Bryan, Thoolen, Cox (or trade).

The following to be phased out of the team next year: Presti, O'Bree, Lockyer, L. Brown, Johnson.

Elevate Blair.

The other rookies have all shown promise but should stay as rookies.

I agree except for Blair.

Wouldn't be in our top 30 on our list, so don't elevate him till he improves a little more.

Delist Dyas also, all he has ever looked like is a B class Alan Toovey, and that's saying a lot.

So, send Dyas home, promote Scott Reed to a "normal" rookie (or we lose him) and delist the 6 mentioned above, and display Cox as trade bait.

If you are playing in the VFL week in week out and have been on the list for 3 years or more, then I reckon the coach doesn't like you, thus you have no future at this club.

Out: Cook, Bryan & Stanley.

Also if you are over 30 and have struggled to stay fit in recent seasons, and the game seems to have passed you by (no disrespect intended) then you need to read the winds and retire.

Out: Rocca.

If you were traded to the club for a 13th round pick to provide midfield depth, but only played 2 AFL games but a heap of VFL then I'm afraid you are a goner.

Out: Corrie.

Touch and go with Sean Rusling, but I believe he will get another year.

The rookie elevations (if any) will be interesting - can mount a case for Scott Reed and Jarryd Blair.

Keep the faith - no need for wholesale changes.

I cannot believe Cwood supporters. All I ever hear is how great Davis, Didak, Thomas, Pendlebury Swan and Cloke are.
Take out Swan and Pendlebury about what I am going to say.
But the others just do not lift a gear consistently in Fianls. Really good players do this. Most of your supposed stars at best go at the same level as they do during Home and Away - the really good side - their stars go up a notch.
I know you will not like to hear this but Davis is OVER RATED! Finals failure. Front runner!!!
How can Cwood be serious if they keep relying on a bloke you fails when he is need most. Its about finals Leon - not about getting a kick when your 5 in front or when the consequences of a loss are not so bad. He surely now must be considered damaged goods (CANNOT BE RELYED UPON WHEN IT COUNTS MOST ).
Unfortunate but this is a ruthless game and he is a repeat offender.Hes been around a long time and had plenty of chances. I know amonst my mates who are not Pies fans we refer to him as Footys Sally Robbins.
Compare him to Steele Sidebottom who had a great finals serious. Also performed well in Tac Finals. Tells us he is a big game player - a bloke you can rely on. This is the tyoe of player you should be building your team around now not Davis.
I hope you all take this in the right spirit and do not see it as just bagging for the sake of it.

Delist - Stanley, Cook, Bryan and Corrie

They've played 2? games between them this year, obviously they are out of favour and not required at the club. They will not figure in our next premiership and therefore goodbye. However i wouldnt be against picking up Stanley and Cook for our VFL team...

Retire - Rocca

Do not delist him and let him go out on his own terms, he is a true champ (Just watched the 02 GF, was sensational). However I think it is time for him to move on to punting.

Delist off Rookie List - Thoolen and maybe Dyas

Thoolen is rubbish, will never make it at AFL level let alone VFL whilst the rumour is Dyas wants to go home.

There are 5 spots on our main list free, I would persist with Rusling and Cox for one more year. Depending on who/how we trade, I would promote Blair, I can see him being a required player next year if a player like O'Bree goes down with a short-term injury...

Wasn't aware we have ever built our team around Davis?
No you haven't but you often rely on the players mentioned to be the game breakers and most of them are unable to do it in finals consistently when the game goes up a notch - these guys do not. I have singled Davis out because hes had enough chances - he was all - aust but showed little in 3 finals games.
