Well they are up from 18 to 9 in a few seasons so that would be the story they would be selling him. I don't entirely disagree with what you're saying however he will not be playing for us.
He is no Certainty to leave Sydney let alone go to the Crom. Their list is not particularly enticing for a youngish player who may want to regularly participate in finals.

The only appealing thing about Perryman is that he is a free agent. He is otherwise a bland, boring player who doesn't move the needle at all.

Hawks probably thought the same about Gibson, Lake and Frawley and Richmond with Grigg, Nankervis, Caddy.

Sometimes bringing in the bland but consistent performers is what you need to take your game to the next level.

The recruitment of Perryman would probably see Williams and/or Jones become depth players.

With Jones out of contract this year, could he be trade bait?

Highly doubt we would be trading him with the Coaching staff’s hard-on to play him as often as possible whenever fit.

Huston, Farrell and Perryman alongside Ratagolea, Aliir and BZT.

Williams, Burton and Jones as depth (likely with one on the bench)

Decent back 6, but still no one-on-one small defender for the Elliott types.
