Maybe - he was born and raised in SA wasn’t he? Maybe his loyalty to Hawthorn isn’t as strong, especially if he isnt getting opportunities to play and he feels he’s ready to go.

Played half a dozen games of VFL at the end of last year, currently injured I believe
