Watching West Coast yesterday, it struck me that it’s just so sad that after our rebuild and being among the dregs of the competition, we don’t have a Harley Reid type player that we can build our team around for the next decade.

We really stuffed this up.

Watching West Coast yesterday, it struck me that it’s just so sad that after our rebuild and being among the dregs of the competition, we don’t have a Harley Reid type player that we can build our team around for the next decade.

We really stuffed this up.

A bit of luck on the draftee for the year you finish last. There's a reasonably amount of pick 1 who have been very underwhelming but we got a very good one in Thilthrope, you can build a team around him.

Willem Duursma Is going to be a good solid AFL player, but he doesn’t scream superstar like Harley Reid, Riley Thrilthorp, and Matt Rowell.

I’d rather have Thilthorpe than Harley.

At the start of the season prior to his knee injury there was an argument that Curtin was tracking ahead of Reid.

Our list is good. Literally all we need is for one of Curtin or Draper to come on as A grade mids and we’ve unlocked a potentially premiership level side.

The barrier is tactical not talent.

Duursma will be better than Reid. He’s elite.

An elite midfielder is probably better to the overall output of the team. Would say an elite KPF is harder to find but they're still reliant on the midfield winning it. Midfield makes both the back and forward half look much better if they're on top of the game.

That said, not complaining with TT and there hasn't been a mid that's come on in those early picks either for that matter.

Yeah but harley reid is one of the few players i woukd offer up just about anyone on our list for (thilthorpe excluded). He could end up being the best player in the comp.
