Greenday were pretty damn good. Loved how they got the crowd involved. :)

I tell ya' I'd give anything for the Verve to get back together and sing "Bittersweet Symphony" again. One of my all time favourites. Was extremely happy to see it performed tonight :D

Please , Please let this be The Black Eyed Peas last song. :o
I've put on the party pies. Grabbed another frothy. Syphoned the python and they are still bloody on.

Bob Geldof just did I Don't Like Mondays with Boomtown Rats. Outstanding performance from the heart.
I feel ya Bob. ;)
Great Stuff.
Also enjoyed that set from Keane.
I'm having a good night. :)

Only one song from Muse after I just sat through 3 of bloody Desiny's Child.
Disappointed.
They only showed one of Audioslave too after 3 crap songs from Black Eyed Peas.:o
The programmer has got it all wrong.

It's 6.30am and we here have watched the entire telecast so far on Fox8. (I'm now on net cos Linkin Park are on)

Highlights so far Greenday, REMs rendition of everybody hurts, Scissor Sisters were enthusiastic as always and as much as I hate to say it Bryan Adams was quite impressive at the Canada show.

Pet Shop Boys even managed to rock Moscow which was amusing.

I liked the sign in the crowd when Pink Floyd were playing.
"Pink Floyd Reunited
- Pigs Have Flown"

I wouldn't want to meet McCartney's drummer in a dark alley either, by the way.

:p

Highlights on Channel 9 tonight at 8:30. 5 hours commercial free of highlights on Triple M from 6pm-11pm tonight.

What was everyones favourite act? I reckon McCartney and U2 doing Sgt Pepper was an awesome way to open it. Then to follow it up with Vertigo really got you in the mood.

People will never forget Live8. It will define this generation.

I've never particularly liked Robbie Williams but his set was by so far the best set of the whole event it wasn't funny.

The guy can work an audience that's for sure.

It was just brilliant :) I stayed up for the whole thing! The broadcast was great too, it was foreign production so we saw NONE of Jet's performance, only 1 song of Tina Arena (she butchered a Beatles song with Craig David) and Keith Urban was on pretty late and all we saw was his newest single (but that was a good performance). When an act like Maroon 5 came on they would only show 1 or 2 songs, and they would show the entire set of the more rock & roll type bands like Green Day (though Green Day were good they did over dramatise it a little).

My highlights:

-Paul Mac and U2 doing Sgt Peppers.

-U2's set was great.

-Coldplay introducing the singer from The Verve and then doing "Bittersweet Symphony"

-Elton and Pete Doherty singing "Children of the revolution"

-Sir Bob doing "I Don't Like Mondays" and stopping on the line "...and what reason do you need too die?" and the whole place raising their fists.

-There was a bit of a lull in the middle stages ...

-Robbie Williams ... what a showman and a star!

-The Who were just awesome, Roger Daltrey's voice is a lot more powerful than I thought it would be after all these years!

But the best part ...

Pink Floyd were just great ... AND they got a 4 song set! They still sound great and David's 2nd solo in Comfortably Numb just tore the place to shreds and was the highlight of the entire night for me. And being a big Floyd fan to see them grinning from ear to ear, smiling at eachother and hearing Roger saying "It's great to be back with these 3 men after all these years" was deservedly sappy but great.

The only disappointment was that I read Neil Young was a late addition to the Canadian concert but we didn't see any of this performance.
