Whenever you have some spare time or bored, or just feeling creative, maybe even just feeling up for a challenge, I'd truly appreciate some help fininshing off the final touches on my fantasy league.

I have been running my own fantasy football league for as long as I can remember now. I started this as a kid and randomly choose my 12 teams from the first page I would open up to on the Melway.

I used to play matches with dice and decks of cards, and calculate the ladders by myself.

Nowadays I use footy simulator programs to play the games.

My original 12 teams were:

Badger Creek
Lyndhurst
Yarraville
Aspendale
Bulla
St.Leonards
Middle Park
Doncaster
Research
South Moorooduc
Tullamarine
Britannia

To keep up with the expanding AFL, I have also expanded my league over time to a now 18 team league.
The 6 new teams are:

Fern Tree Gully
Malvern
Oak Park
Park Orchards
Rosanna
Camberwell

As I'm not a real talented artist, I've never bothered to design logos for these fantasy clubs.

This is where you come in.

I will post the team gurnseys and nicknames, and you design the logo.

1st cab off the rank is Aspendale Knights.

So, let your creative juices flow and cheers in advance. :thumbsu:

Hey, FITW

Funny you post this thread as I have the exact same hobbie although I am yet to design jerseys although I am currently working on it and I am still using the crummy technique of dice. Out of interest what system did you use with cards and what simming program do you use?

Here's my Aspendale Knights effort:

EDIT: not taking credit for the creation of this logo, it's a recolour of the USMA Knights logo, but I figured recolours are alright for this.

Great work so far guys, keep it up. :thumbsu:

Love your design Gibbsy, winner so far.

Hey, FITW

The simming program is just AFL Premiership Coach 2011, where I've altered team names and players.

My card method was great but a little technical, I'll explain best I can.

An Ace = 1
A Jack = 0
Joker = +4 Home +2 Away
Cards 2 through to 10 = their face value.

I would use 5 decks of cards but remove all Kings and Queens.
I would also remove six A's, four 2's,ten 6's, twelve 7's, sixteen 8's, nineteen 9's and nineteen 10's, fifteen J's and eight of the Jokers.

This keeps the scores more realistic.

Each team was ranked by their previous season as follows.

1. Team 1
2. Team 2
3. Team 3
4. Team 4
+ 4 goals home games +2 goals away games

5. Team 5
6. Team 6
7. Team 7
8. Team 8
+2 goals home games

9. Team 9
10. Team 10
11. Team 11
12. Team 12
13. Team 13
No change

14. Team 14
15. Team 15
16. Team 16
17. Team 17
18. Team 18
-2 goals home games -4 goals away games

When a team plays a team within it's own bracket, no changes to the score are added.

Examples:

Team 16 v Team 3 (Team 3 is added 4 goals)
Team 3 v Team 16 (Team 3 is added 8 goals)
Team 2 v Team 6 (Team 2 is added 4 goals)
Team 6 v Team 2 (No goals are added)
Team 10 v Team 6 (No goals are added)
Team 6 v Team 10 (Team 6 is added 2 goals)
Team 12 v Team 18 (Team 12 is added 4 goals)
Team 18 v Team 12 (Team is added 2 goals)
Team 5 v Team 18 (Team 5 is added 6 goals)
Team 18 v Team 5 (Team 5 is added 2 goals)

The reason for doing this was to prevent it from being less random, and be more realistic where teams can have dynasties and others bottom out for a few years.

The game itself is just flipping over cards to get 1/4 by 1/4 scores.

Game Example:

Team 1 v Team 2

Team 1 flips over a 4 and a 2, team 2 flips over a 3 and an A

Team 1: 4.2
Team 2: 3.1

Team 1 flips over a 3 and 5, team 2 flips over a 3 and a 4

Team 1: 4.2 7.7
Team 2: 3.1 6.5

Team 1 flips over a J and a 6, team 2 flips over a 4 and a 4

Team 1: 4.2 7.7 7.13
Team 2: 3.1 6.5 10.9

Team 1 flips over a 5 and an A, team 2 flips over 3 and a 2

Team 1: 4.2 7.7 7.13 12.14 (86)
Team 2: 3.1 6.5 10.9 13.11 (89)

If however this game was Team 1 v Team 6 the score would be altered to:
Team 1: 5.2 9.7 10.13 16.14 (110)
Team 6: 3.1 6.5 10.9 13.11 ( 89)
or alternatively:
Team 1: 4.2 7.7 7.13 12.14 (86)
Team 6: 2.1 4.5 7.9 9.11 (65)

This would be decided by flipping a card. Red = Add to home Black = Subtract from away.

If during a match you flip a Joker, you flip the next card and add an additional 4(if home team) i.e Joker 5 = 9, Joker 2 = 6, and an additional 2 (if away team) i.e Joker 5 = 7, Joker 2 = 4

I play only one match before reshuffling the deck, because Jokers shouldn't be seen too regularly.

I hope this makes sense, cheers.

Hmmmm, mines alot complicated as I work out player stats etc. However, now, thinking about it I might use the AFL Wii sim.

This is my logo for the jets, I wanted to stray away from using a cheesy plane so I tried to make something a bit classier, hope you like it.

Uploaded with ImageShack.us

The wings are from a Matchless Motorcycle logo.

EDIT: Realised I had the colours reversed the wrong way. Now fixed

Going in order of what you posted them, Britannia Kings next up. Originally had Britannia featuring in the logo, but above the KINGS wordmark the whole thing was too spaced out, and I tried it inside the king but then when scaled down it looked poor. This is a nice compromise.

And some friendly advice for you Andonis - go onto www.dafont.com or a similar website and download some nice fonts - sans serif, slab, etc. They will turn an average logo into a great logo.

EDIT: Is a recolour of a former Sacramento Kings alternate logo. Completely off topic would love to see the Kings stay in Sac-town rather than move
