Okay I fixed the neck, experimenting with the eye. Is it better left entirely white or is it better like this?

Looks great El_Scorcho!! If I was to give a couple of suggestions... I'd simplify the 'Box Hill' Type (maybe use Futura or Helvetica) then centre it to the 'Mustangs' type. Also make the yellow highlights on the mane white. They're just little things but its a kirrer logo!! Well done mate!

Thanks! I might rework the wordmark entirely actually. I'll try the mane highlights in white when I get home.

Brilliant Mowse!! LOve the subtle 'Box' and 'Hill' references! My only feedback would be to get rid of the ridges (mane) and get rid of 'FC' and centre and make the 'Mustangs' type smaller and inline with the corners of the box.

I tried it with no mane but it lost its 'horsiness'. so I just altered the mane into the box edge.

Yes, I used that as the basis of my work. However, not enough was used that I can't claim it as new work. For example, the mane is hardly used. Hopefully this doesn't push people away for voting for it

I dont think you've changed it enough. Probably better for El_Scorcho to make the call if its accepted or not though.

Legally, it has to be changed by at least 30% before its counted as a new design. I realise that this isnt a court room, but when I say its been changed "enough", I'm referring to
a) The mane isnt usedand
b) only the head is used combined with the rest of the shield ( which, for the record is mine and the background.

You hardly changed it, you just cut out the mane.

The style is fine but the competition rules stipulate drawing all your own art. just draw a horse's head in a similar fashion to the one you've used and stick it in.

It's more fun if we all draw from scratch. That way we get better at it. It's the whole reason I started this comp.

I re-designed the Stallion from their original logo.

The shape of the face and the mane needs a little work T**ty. The face looks sortof like a fox or a german shepherd and the mane looks like a ponytail, although I'm not sure how you'd fix that given the rampant position of the horse.

I love the overall style though, I think it will work really well when fixed up.

Needs to be longer? More narrow? Needs more bottom lip/chin?

yeah, longer and straighter with a bit of chin, and the end of the snout should be squarer IMO.
