Great win today and a great exit for Jako yet I look towards the next challange looming, perhaps the most daunting for the season......

Saints v Eagles at the Telstra Dome.

Roof better be shut, last time you could not see a thing on tv, at the dome would of been worse.

It could be a shootout like the earlier parts of todays win but the Saints are favourites BUT you never know what confidence can do to a team.

The challange is squarely with our developing KPP's, who are starting to show the promise, to contain the Saints young tall stars.

The game however will be won and lost in the midfield. The Eagles would be equal to the task if they get first use of the ball and Judd can continue his work under the packs.

Whilst I will tip the Saints to be safe I really hope the eagles put in a gallant effort, we cannot be counted out, after all we beat the best form teams last season on their home turf.

We're a chance. Need Chick and Waters in to provide a bit of grunt, but atleast we have the talls to match up on theirs.

Exciting Contests:

Embley v Hamill - Both go hard at the ball, match up well on each other, and we could be in for a real treat if they turn it on.

Judd v Ball - Battle of the 2001 draftees. Probably the 2 highest rated players from that draft, lets see which is better in their 3rd seasons.

Matera v Milne - Could we see a midget shootout? Both in good form, we could see some textbook crumbing from both.

Glass v Gehrig - Glass did really well on Neitz, was probably beaten by a very strong Hall, lets see how he goes against an inform Gehrig.

Maybe B. jones on Hamill :)

who knows what will happen... but as long as the kids get some game time it should be good.

Does anyone know why Waters got dropped? I thought he looked comfortable for someone so young.

I'd prefer Waters than Hunter, but that would leave B Jones, Nicoski, Waters, and Lynch down the back with Glass and probably Chick. I suppose it depends on match ups.

Ball is really only in his second season. He missed his first year with OP. So Judd is a season ahead.

No he missed his first year by deciding to play for his school instead.

He did decide to play school footy in his first season but as Munga correctly pointed out, he could only manage a couple of school games because of a severe case of OP.

And Judd missed the final 2 yrs of junior footy with shoulder reconstructions, so one could argue he's a season behind Ball.

Now stop making excuses, its a battle to be enjoyed. They will forever (along with Hodge) be compared, and hopefully all 3 will become quality footballers that we will have the pleasure of watching.

Facts.....excuses :D All Saints fans and Hawthorn fans will forever have to live with the fact that they let Judd slip through.

The game though should be fairly one sided, the Saints trounce us when there crap, now there actually good so it could get ugly. But it's alright, were still on my plan. Lose to the Saints and beat Richmond to be 4-6 with our cushy mid-season run. Thats the plan.

Bull****.

I have not met one sainst fan who is not happy with Ball.

We would rather him than Judd no offence but we really rate him and think he is just as good.

So it's settled then ...

You keep Ball and we'll stick with Judd, that way everyone's happy.

Exactly

Of course you all do, you have to, he plays for your team so of course you would think he is just as good.

He's not though.

I hope your coach underestimates him as much as you.

FACT: Judd is Faster - Luke Ball is the Better Footballer
EVIDENCE: Watch Sundays game.

Watch for: Balls use of wrong side of body compared to Judds
Balls direct everything JUST WATCH. We chose Ball over judd for a reason.

hawthorn also chose hodge over ball and judd FOR A REASON. that doesnt mean hodge is a better player.

Ask anyone who isnt a supporter of either St Kilda or West Coast and youd get most saying Judd is better im sure

I'm a saints supporter, and I think Judd is better. Don't know about in 10 years time, but he is now. Even if Ball had another year behind him so he's the same as Judd, I'd still think Judd was ahead. Honestly, I think in a few years that will change. Just my opinion.
