Hope you don't mind a foreigner.

Everybody should love Richmond tonight. Obviously Freo fans are wrapped for obvious reasons, but you put those 'unsociable' snipping Hawks in their place which is good for the competition AFAIC. I watched the game delayed without knowing the result, and was cheering your team on as much as I would mine. Well done.

Just quietly, I love Maric. His contested marking was massive, just massive. Doesn't need to do it all that often but he's so strong when you need him to be.

Other people will mention the obvious, but I would like to add Houli. I was at the game and when he kicked his redemption goal I was so delighted that despite being an athiest I found myself yelling "Allah Akbar" (fortunately this was lost to the cheering throngs and I am now not wearing an orange jumpsuit). I would also like to give a cheerout to the other whipping boys who did well: Chaplin who was brilliant for a second game running (emd Port Adelaide supporters); Old Balls who was good again, Hunt who was excellent; Grigg (though I suspect he stopped being a whipping boy a few months back) and Sammy Lloyd the super sub.
My first game as a Tiger supporter was in 1982. We played Hawthorn and they beat us and our supporters sang in response: "We're on top of the ladder. We're on top of the ladder." At the time it struck me as lacking in humility. Hawthorn went on to.. let's not dwell on that. But this game was the game my two sons choose to be their first game this year. For financial reasons our ability to attend games is really restricted. For reasons impossible to fathom our ability to choose the right game to attend had been horrendous. My oldest boy's first game when he was three was against the Bulldogs ten years ago and we watched the Tigers win a thrilling last quarter and sing the song with him asleep in my arms from quarter time. Every time since we have ventured forth to expose the boys to a Tiger win has been a disappointing loss.
Tonight I had the two of them with me and my arms around them as we sang the song.
