I've been one of his biggest critics but he really stood up today when the game needed to be won. Took some big strong grabs, strangled Hille, Gumby and Ryder to a point where none of them had an effect inside 50. He didn't fumble, he didn't look goofy and he made sure that all his possesions were effective.

If he plays like that every week I'll never complain again.

Well done Hyph :thumbsu:

Absolutely, those two marks on the line and then that point where he dove into the play and grabbed the ball in one hand and managed to evade two Essendon blokes to fire off a quick hand ball were absolute quality.

This is one of the few times LRT has had a notable performance for a positive reason. Usually when he does well, it means he didn't do anything obviously bad.

Yesterday was the opposite! He was a bastion of solidarity, a shining beacon of defensive strength, a luminous fountain of inexplicable skill and poise!

Late charge for the brownlow.

Have you been watching football since March 2010 as well?

I didn't see the hands go above the neck, but he definitely was making illegal contact, you're right.

bitter much? Hocking didn't lay a finger on Goodes all game, did he?

back on topic, LRT was fantastic. A Dunkley-esque performance. At the time I was screaming at the telly when he chose not to handball to an open Eski and kicked it down a defenders throat instead, but all is forgiven now.

Haha. My comment was meant with with a tongue in cheek attitude. I like LRT, he's been solid. He did surprise me yesterday though, it was 05 till 06 GF form.

LRT is like any footballer, he makes mistakes. Because he looks goofy, when he makes a mistake, he becomes the laughing stock of all and sundry. The reality is he has been a very good CHB for years, filling a position that isn't easily filled. At CHB, he is basically one problem Roosy doesn't have to worry about. He does his job week in week out.
