ESSENDON will field a side that includes forward Scott Lucas and utility Jason Winderlich against the Brisbane Lions on Friday night, with the pair available for the NAB Cup clash after overcoming injuries.
Lucas returns after post-season knee surgery modified his pre-season, while Winderlich has finally overcome a serious back problem that could have ended his career.
"We're really excited about having them in for their first games for the year," assistant coach Gary O'Donnell said at Latrobe University on Tuesday.
"Certainly Winderlich has come through now. He has the odd set-back, and the medical staff hold him back, but he's ready to go and we're really excited about it."
O'Donnell also rated David Myers and Alwyn Davey as "good chances" to play depending on how they train during the week

I can't wait for Richmond, and ANZAC Day, and Carlton, and I had a look at the highlights against the Hawks on BomberTV and want to have another go at them too.
