I've noticed him kiss the jumper a couple of times after he's kicked goals.

If he's leaving, that's a huge turnaround in attitude.

Yeah - during the days when he was probably thankful to be getting a game and to us for giving him the opportunity no one else did. I fear those sentiments are long gone.

I sense Luke's opinions of himself have changed significantly since then - and while I don't necessarily agree with these sorts of threads, particularly on the eve of a new season - I'll probably be more surprised to see him in the hoops next year than somewhere else. His attitude appears to have changed markedly to me (admittedly I am not privy to he day to day workings).

If i was in his position I would look around at the quality players of his age and slightly younger and realise there are good times ahead and that I could be a part of something pretty awesome.

Crumbing for the likes of Boyd, Redpath, Stringer and co makes his job a lot easier too.

Plus he's a favourite amongst young fans, recognisable.

He's going to spend 90% of his time playing in a midfield that's getting spanked this year though.

Based on?

Just a sense. I can't quite put my finger on it. I didn't say it was a definitive thing - just a feeling I get. When interviewed, almost a "too cool for this shit" attitude that wasn't present when he first burst onto the scene as a rookie.

Has looked a litte "disinterested" when I've seen him of late. But again - this is only one man's observation and probably well wide of the mark.

No, champ.

Attitude is not a tangible thing. It is one person's opinion of the behaviours and efforts of another. Thus, it is a purely subjective opinion as to whether someone has a good or bad one. And different people will have a different view, and different values, as to what constitutes a good or bad attitude.

My personal OPINION is that Dahlhaus' attitude has changed for the worse over the past year or so. I can't prove it - and said as much in my post - but it is a sense I get. Which could well be wrong. Which I also stated.

Nice try at having a crack back, anyway.

This should be moved into the not worth a thread...thread. Absolute joke of a topic to start with our current situation after the last 6 months

Haha thanks glad you remembered ;)

Fair enough I thought you knew something.
I don't get any of that. Seems just as intent on playing at the club as ever. I think he'll sign pretty soon in fact.

I certainly hope so - don't get me wrong.

But of all the young "guns" - i think he is the one I'd be most comfortable in letting go of.

Other than him staying...

There was rumours leading up to the trade period, yes. But there is an entire season to go before the next trade period. That's a damn long time, and a lot can happen in that time.
He's shown a lot more pride and passion in the guernsey in his time at the club than any apparent lack of wanting to be there.

There's nothing high and mighty about thinking it doesn't deserve a thread. The answer to your question is very simple - who knows.

Probably not even Dahl.

More than rumours. I heard Garlick say on SEN that Melbourne were asking the question. But we said he isn't going anywhere as he is one of the faces of the club on and off field.

The kids do love him.

Hope he stays. But ya know gws love sniffing round battling clubs so anything is possible.
Why are we discussing a player leaving at the start of a season?

Are we all that paranoid now?
After the way GWS behaved during last season, approaching Griffen (he was gone by the B&F), I wouldn't put anything past them. Other clubs may think they now have a green light to do likewise. Contracts have been shown to be not worth the paper they're written on. The AFL needs to clamp down (although GWS may be exempt ) or the league will go the way of NRL.

I'm with you here, but I'm not reading too much into it.

He does seem disinterested in the media, but Dahl's a heart and soul player. When the final siren goes he can barely stand, and you can see how much the wins mean to him.

While I think Hunter, Honeychurch and McLean are all going to be very good, I'd be massively uncomfortable if we were to lose Dahl. He's worth so much off the field, let alone being an established player on it.

I'd be really disappointed in him if he left, but I think he'll re-sign - and when he does, long may his disdain for the media be obvious. :p

Perhaps it's time to get it right

Disinterested traditionally means having no stake in the matter. For example, when you are arguing with someone, you might bring in a disinterested third person to help settle the issue fairly. Uninterested traditionally means not engaged, bored, or unconcerned.
