Luke Darcy loves us

At first I thought it was just the big Rush that he had a bit of a thing for, pointing out (rather incorrectly IMO, the signs were there last year) how he was the 'most improved player in the competition' in 2010 during at least two or three different calls. Typically after the infamous 'good call Trace'.

Now he's taken it to a whole new level. Check this lovey-dovey slosh out:

What a fantastic brand of football they’re playing! I really admire Dean Bailey, who two years ago was saying that this was the style of footy that they were going to play, and despite not being capable of doing that at the time, the only way to learn was to keep doing it. Now that they’re getting all that quality into their side, you can see that what they’re trying to do is very Geelong-like. I think that in about three years’ time they’ll have the best list, and they’ll be in the best position of any club to win a flag. If you had the choice of all the sides to coach, Melbourne would be the list and the side that you’d want.

Watch this space, Luke is driving the media bandwagon.

scott west is apparently one of his best mates, probably influencing him a bit I would think.

Tony Shaw has also been very complementary of us during some of his calls, predicting future success. If I was a Sydney supporter I'd have at least turned the commentary off on Sunday, it was a Melbourne wankfest.

What's Voss getting at here? Is he being genuine?

From: "Demons looking like 'future superpower' to Voss"

"The way they moved and the way that they played the game, you certainly think, are we seeing the superpower of the future?"

"I would imagine they are probably talking finals."

Voss even went so far as to compare Melbourne to the emerging Lions side of the late '90s which went on to claim three straight premierships.

"The early signs for them are they are on the right path," Voss said.

To be fair Luke Darcy has been saying that for a while now. I remember him last year pumping us up for our direction and to stick fat. When Scully and Trengove was drafted, he held the view that MFC is the club you want to coach if given the choice. I would say Luke isn't a bandwagon jumper.

However I remember an article from Mike Sheahan and a few others who stuck in the boots but now super power. Pffft.

Yeah, Darcy has been pumping us up for a while now.

I remember him going nuts about Cale Morton last year, talking him up as one of the competition's future stars.

I quite like Luke :)
I don't. He annoys me on MMM, and he owns Precinct. Which is a decent place but you can't get in without a massive wait after the footy on a Saturday night. Should implement a policy chucking out all the dudes and fat chicks inside and letting in the glamours in the line in and I.

Got there nice and early to watch us storm to victory, there was a few other melbourne supporters there aswell. About 20 seconds to go we broke out into its a Grand Old Flag! Was a good nite, dees won, plenty of beer and plenty of good looking women to!
