that's the link to the news reel from this weeks

Dark horse, Rowville (258) is in good form and notched another win at the expense of St Johns Tecoma (175). Marc Hardy with 45 and Hawthorn captain Luke Hodge (32) both got starts but the target was out of reach thanks to the bowling of father and son combination, Craig and Ryan Arnell.

just a side note or two.....

luke hodge is not our captain

they call us "dark horse" and yet we're outright 2nd....mind you the journalist hails from tecoma....

oh ok thanks for that

Why is it that Sports Journo's never know a damn thing about sport. Though I gotta say at least they spelt the names correctly.

I play cricket for the Rowville Cricket Club (part of the Ferntree Gully Cricket Association).

Saturday, our first side played against a St Johns/Tecoma side. A side that Luke Hodge was playing for. Word has it that he bowled fairly quickly for our competition, and he can hande a bat pretty well.

I believe he took 2 wickets against our mob. But should he be doing this half way through a pre-season.

Given that i'm in the seconds. Im hoping our game finishes up fairly early next week so i can go back and have a word with him/watch him make some runs. (not too many though)

Does anyone know if he has any credentials when it come to wielding a piece of willow??

cheers lads

He hit brett lee for six a couple of years ago in an exhibition game and lee was holding nothing back.

On the list that was going a few years ago about sporting stars that excelled at more than one sport - Craig Bradley played for either SA or Victoria in the Sheffield Shield for years while he was playing for Carlton. Apparently a very good cricketer.
