I dont know about anyone else but to me this smells a little like the chad cornes situation from last year.
He has a few weeks off with a nagging injury, team is struggling he makes the effort to play and get a few wins but cant put up the SC scores, and eventully is out for an extended period.
Im thinking i might have to cut him lose...thinking to P.Burgoyne who should come down in price this week and maybe next after that 54 last week, he looked really good the first 3 weeks very keen to see how he goes this week.

I reckon I will go Hodge - Waite

If he comes back and guns it, well so be it

But if I wait for him to come back he'll drop even further making a straight swap to a premium defender difficult

it doesnt really sound like the sort of injury that he will just take a couple of weeks off from and come back a superstar.

not sure what to do here. probably just keep him and wait it out, hope for the best

Yes, I now have injuries to Rance and Kornes to deal with so Hodge will get a reprieve I think

Ablett's apparent imminent return makes him my "injury replacement" for Kornes (also thinking Grimes - Rance) so that will take 3 trades just there but i'll still have about $100K spare.

With all the injuries around the place smart trading will be vital because a lot of coaches may end up running out of trades early.

Thank god I have a very easy league game coming up - good timing :thumbsu:

Yeah I might have to just leave Hodge because of Rance.

I've got a couple of easy league games coming up too so that's good.

Didn't get to watch him on the weekend, how'd he look lads? His numbers are respectable considering he went off with an ankle or something it looks like.

Better, quite a bit leaner, but not about to bust out a 150 anytime soon IMO. He spent quite a bit of time on the bench. Obviously that was partly due to the ankle but he still seems pretty unfit to me.

I'd be picking him on the basis that at $450K his potential scoring from say rounds 16-22 (finals!) would be >> someone like Enright

I have to move this week on someone. Do you think he's a few weeks of game time off 100+ scoring again?

He's just come back and is already only 3 points off scoring 100+.

I'm hoping for a repeat of his game last year against Brisbane - 174 pts at Launceston. I remember him killing it that day and continually dropping in front of Jon Brown to take contested marks from opposition kicks.

From the Fan Footy report he had an abdominal strain in Q1 that day as well!

Possibly, but I'd want to see him for another week before I made that call. If you look at the "Goodes v Hodge" thread on the main board you'll see that the majority of Hawks supporters think he's running at about 80%.

He was a bit lucky that the Swans didn't try and exploit him like Essendon, or hard tag him like Port and Carlton. I don't think he's going to be an SC gun this year but I could easily be wrong.

Hodge has a break even of 133 so hopefully another drop in price and i waill pick him up next round

I saw him at Chadstone last night and he was walking with a noticable limp but no crutches. Take that as you will.

Not sure if I should be more concerned with the limp or that he was shopping at Chadstone.

My tip for the next round, he will play poorly...but look FABULOUS!:D

i am thinking of getting hodge cause at 450 000 odd i would be looking at an average of about 80 with the occasional big score. plus with hawk defenders coming back he will be able to run amuck off the back flank

coolas8 for 450,000 your not asking for enough points.

You want to be looking for someone to score over 90 for that price not 80
