Good pick up on the rookie list. I wish Collingwood had kept him, or at least rookie listed him. Hope he gets an opportunity at the Saints to break into the senior squad.

info on him??

He is a midfielder with average but neat skills. Slightly better than average pace. Has good ball getting ability. Just a solid all round player. Defensive side may need work and things like tackling and second efforts/1%ers are questionable but has improved on those considerably and there is no reason why he can't continue improving in those areas. Another potential weakness of him is his light frame which is not helped by the fact is his natural game is of a balanced midfielder and not just an outside midfielder.

He's alright but nothing special. The only thing from stopping him being AFL level is not getting games. At St.Kilda's midfield, this could be a problem. But could blossom under a coach who doesn't place too much emphasis on being accountable as MM does.

I think Mullins will be a very good player for you guys. Jabso said his skills are average but if you have followed Mullins like i have you would know that his skills rival that on Buckley, Hird and Harvey, he aslo has this habit of getting his hand on the pill a heap and he's not just a recieving player but often he is the one on the bottem of the pacts getting the ball to the recevers. The only reason he didn't make an impact a Collingwood was because MM is an **************** and didn't give him a go.

Mullins is a reasonable VFL level footballer who will never make it in the AFL.

He is like a lot of other clones we see who never quite get there:
can jog out to a back flank.
take a floating uncontested mark.
float the ball to the next uncontested player on the wing.

is he a good kick? no, just a standard sloppy slap-it-on-your-boot type.

Basically the way to judge a player like Mullins is to say:
will he be able to provide something to the team that any other player in his position could do?

And the answer is no. A reasonable filler player who will never step up.

Disagree,i've followed this kid a fair bit as he's a nephew of a friend. Went for a few drinks after Hawks v Pies this year and spoke to quite a few Pie supporters who rate him very highly. Reminds me a bit of a leftfooted Rhys-Jones in that hes a deceptively quick long striding wingman. Might need to work a bit on his defensive side but i reckon he's a real talent and he's not even 20 yet i don't think. Should be a real good get for The Sainters.

We don't have a full list and Springvale lack midfielders (at least in 2004) so he'll get every possible chance to prove himself. Both of our 2004 rookies were added to the senior list at the end of the season.

Was he the player that was drafted in the pre-season draft a couple of years ago?

He's not crap, he's quite an ok player, and the ideal type to rookie. Not saying he'll make it, but personally I think he's capable of being a 50-80 game player if he applies himself and gets a chance. He's got no real strengths and no real weaknesses, just a reasonable all round midfielder/flanker.

And he's only a rookie. At worst you've got a good VFL player on your Springvale list.

Yeah we got him in the PSD.

I wouldn't go that far. His kicking skills are on par with the average AFL footballer. At least from what he's shown at AFL level and from the various Willy games I saw with him playing he didn't impress me THAT much. I am against him being sacked ahead of Williams, Lokan and even King.
The major problem for him IMO was that he is a ball winning midfielder in an outside midfielder/winger's body. He could get away with that at VFL level. He needs to bulk up, this will give him the best chance to make it.
