Mate you are the last bloke who should be talking about a coaches haircut or movement. Your coach has a haircut that makes Jennifer Anniston envious and the kicking style of ******ed giraffe.

You still fail to state your credentials.

Credentials and Chip her run. Not really words that go together.

Tips for this weekend:

YCW to beat Mitty - I hope Mitty put up a strong showing, very proud club and well run administration. Just think YCW might edge them out.

Pyramid to beat Bridgy - No real reason for this tip apart from a feeling that the dogs are up and about early. Haven't see either team yet, so no science behind this decision.

Calivil to beat Inglewood - Woods are on the improve and thats fantastic for the league, but coming from a long way back and i just get the feeling that calivil have been under-rated in the pre-season. Perhaps this is more to do with their past era and always getting done by them.

Serp to beat Marong - once again haven't seen either side but from past results, the bears are up and about, Marong on the improve.

Best of luck to all sides this weekend, and how about everyone chill out a bit on this site, and lets get some real footy discussions going.

Unfortunately was on hand to witness the worse display of senior football that I have ever seen in my entire life on the weekend. The match was YCW v Mitiamo. Didn't realise that the LVFL could still allow slow lumbering players to make senior grade football and the poor use of football and dropping the basic of marks was deplorable.

Not sure whether that this was a case of 2 bottom placed sides in the comp, or whether the comp as a whole is of the same standard, as I don't watch enough LVFL footy to compare. Used to play in the LVFL many years ago and the standard in the 1's and 2's back then was way better than the standard in the 1's that I saw yesterday.....would have thought that the standard would have improved, not gone backwards !!!!

Get out and watch a few more games then mate, particularly one featuring serp and the other top sides. The bears are an impressive unit.

Picked the worst game of the year to watch buddy! Both sides are 100-150 points behind the top 4-5 sides. Good to see Inglewood took it up to the demons on the weekend.

Did you break a wing, Roota? Marong not having much luck with injuries by the look.

Newbridge also unlucky with Comer, McMurtrie and Brown all on the long term injury list.

Defence certainly not Mitiamo's strongest line....

I'm gonna stop there before we're due to play Bridgey :/

Don't be too critical of Miti, you will be fighting it out with them for the Spoon after all. Another 7 goals for Collins on the weekend, this time against a potential grand finalist. Chipper, any chance we can enter an agreement where I get paid a dollar each time you say or do something stupid? This may give me a fighting chance of matching Gina Rinehart's wealth by 2014.

Apologies Dogger, the big fella has certainly proved me wrong so far. Just goes to show shooting your mouth off doesn't pay. I'll try to keep on the straight and narrow from now on.

Who's your tip for the wooden spoon match this week?

You're a game man doing it to someone you have to play against.

Anyways, I think you blokes will win comfortably, quite a fall from grace for Miti since the 2009 flag, I'd be interested to know the reasons behind it as I gather they aren't short of cash. I seem to recall they were flying up until the inter league break of 2010 and it has been a steady decline since then.

Bridgy/Serp grand final I'd say from here - with Bridgy to win - if Collins can stay fit!!!!!

Yep did the shoulder which is extremely frustrating. We are having an ordinary run so far but hopefully that turns around. We have played 2 very good sides so far

Roota, unfortunately don't have the luxury (or misfortune) to watch LVFL matches as I am limited with my time with other football commitments. Saturday was a rare opportunity to support other leagues within the region. Must say that for a home game at Backhaus oval that the crowd was extremely disappointing. In year's gone by YCW had a strong following and was well supported. Not sure what has happened there ???

In regards to Serp, I understand that they have picked up half of the Heathcote Senior side (Rings x 4) so I don't think its any coincidence that they are of a better standard the most other teams in the LVFL. I have got friends that have switched from HDFL to a higher ranked LVFL side this season in both footy and netty and they too are surprised of the large gap between the standard of skill level between the two leagues.....

I don't think anyone disputes the HDFL is the better standard league overall, however Serp, Bridgey, Newbridge and Pyramid would all more than hold their own in the HDFL. There is currently a fair gap between these teams and the rest in the LVFL imho.

Thanks for the support, you come into he LVFL page and bag the standard, yet your affiliated with the BFL, bit rude isn't it? Kyneton - no senior side, castlemaine, kangaroo flat, maryborough to a lesser extent all non competitive against good sides, I'd suggest to you the BFL has dropped further than the LVFL, sure golden square were argueably the best in country Vic but gee it drops quickly.

It's a fundamental issue across all country footy and it really has just come across as a cheap shot. How about you head back to the safety of the BFL page and worry about the storm falling into a hole like last year. Interesting side point your key forward came from the LVFL previously, I'd suggest we are playing our role as a district league providing a place to play footy and also provide players that can take the next step and play at a higher level.

Agree with you all clubs in the BFL have benefited from players coming from the lower leagues to test them selves in the "BIG" league.

Storm boy would do well to remember where his boy Sammy Mildren played before crossing to Strath :D

The great thing about country footy is the fact that there are leagues of varying standard. It means that we can cater for anyone who wants to participate and at the end of the day thats what it should be about.

I'm only 2 games (well 1 game and part of a quarter!!) into my time in the LVFL and can't speak highly enough of all the people I've come across so far

I coached twos in the Benalla league 10 odd years ago and as most know the BDFL was of a very low standard compared to most other leagues. The twos in that comp gave guys who would not normally get a chance to play an opportunity to have a run in the game they love. We even had some rugby converts and a couple of Canadians who had never played before running around every Saturday. Football is a game for all no matter their ability, it's about giving everybody a chance to play our great game. People would always take the piss about the standard of the comp, especially the seconds, but I can tell everyone that ran out onto that ground was as committed as any player I've ever seen. Afterall it's all about participation!!

Inglewood by 50pts
Pyramid by 100pts
Bridgey by 60pts
Newbridge by 18pts

Blues to beat the supers, but I think this will be closer than most games - 12 points.
Dogs should win comfortably, Grayling to kick 6.
Mean Machine will continue on their Merry way, big Axle to kick another 7.
Maroons, without Comer and Brown, to just pip Calivil by 17 points.

Saw Calivil on the weekend, still a pretty good side with that trademark running game. Maroons had to work very hard to earn the points.

How about Marong, more scoring shots than Bridgy. Anyone update us on that game, looks like the panthers starting to gel if they can kick straight.
