Obviously this thread is losing support. I will try one more post to see if there is any reaction.

According to the LVFL clearance list, Chris Endres has applied for a clearance from Newbridge back to Gippsland. I'll have to get down to riverside and see if anyone knows why that is. Have to say - massive loss.

Don't know much about their 'in' Luke Jones from the BFL. Can anyone tell me where he is from and what he is like?

That would be big blow for them. Everything I have heard about him says that he is a gun

Endres is one of the best footballers in the comp. Massive out. It will be interesting to see how Newbridge front up against the top sides with Brown, Comer and McMurtrie out.

Leaves a big hole in the midfield with Ford gone and Comer and McMurtrie injured.

Did he play last week cause Calivil Utd got closer than I would have thought?

Saw Calivil on the weekend, still a pretty good side with that trademark running game. Maroons had to work very hard to earn the points.

How about Marong, more scoring shots than Bridgy. Anyone update us on that game, looks like the panthers starting to gel if they can kick straight.

Marong definitely had more of the footy, but butchered it all day. More a reflection of Bridgewater's quality/pressure than anything else. Bryan Vance out of the game early and our other key forward David Blume went down with a knee injury. Missed Zac Boyer in the middle also.

Pretty tough start to the season with Pyramid, Serp and Bridgy first up so hopefully an opportunity to show a bit more over the next month.

Very nice win by the Panthers today. Good to get 4 points in the bank and hopefully that kick starts the season. Bryan Vance put on a contested marking clinic in the first half and finished with 7 but could have been 10 or more. YCW have a real crack and are a good inside eam but injuries seem to have robbed them of a bit of depth.

I must say that the condition of their oval today was very poor. It may well be a council issue but someone has to get some bloody water and grass on to it

Roota, realise your new to Marong, but I'd suggest you refrain from saying anything about any other ground in the league considering the state of marong over the last 5-10 years, you would never of seen a worse surface.

I was waiting for someone to mention that and probably fair enough I was simply making a comment about today's surface

Chris has gone back to Bass believe he had a falling out with the coach recruiting Scott Clarke wouldn't have helped who got the flick from Bass his pre match prep was done mostly at the Bass pub Friday nights.

Endres got home sick, missed his missus. Simple as that. Comer played today, was in the best. Jones is from Eaglehawk.. Left cause he's not a senior player there

Whats the word out of Newbridge lads? Apparently pretty poor form against the Hill and didnt give a yelp. This on the back of a very big exit in Endres. Would have though after the opening of the best facilities in the league they would have been a bit more up?

Hard to argue really Cracka, I went up and had a look expecting a close game. PH all over the Maroons in the first half. Yep they came back after half time but the game was done. Similar story in the 2's. Certainly the boys looked really flat, but can't take anything away from PH, they were up for the challenge and outplayed N/Bridge. If I get out to riverside this weekend, I would be hoping for a better performance against the Panthers. Injuries no excuse, every club has them.

Marong on the improve, but I'll stick with my boys to hit back and win by 24 pts this week.

Well 3 games went as predicted, with the closest on paper going Maroons way. Calivil had a bad day out I see, not like them at all. Inglewood keep battling away and getting closer. Bridgy stamping their authority.

I'll be parochial for a moment and say very happy with NB win over marong. No bench after 1/4 time and had to put an injured player on 1/2 way through third term as another went down. Good fighting win.

On a different subject - Interleague. Comer is out now I would think after coming off in first quarter with what looks like a shoulder, and didn't return. How are other clubs nominations shaping up for next week against Horsham League? Any injuries?

Yep Newbridge too good after halftime and showed plenty of ticker playing with only 17 fit blokes. Will say that it was a particularly frustrating day watching from the sidelines with a display of umpiring that even though I witnessed it I still cannot believe it. In know way am I saying that the umpiring cost Marong the game as Newbridge were too good but there was one bloke out there who saw things very differently to just about everyone else at the ground.

It was quite amazing to see. One umpire - talk dark haired bloke - was terrific and I really feel, sorry for him as his performance and he himself were tarnished by the other bloke that was out there with him. It was beyond a joke and got downright dangerous. How someone wasn't seriously hurt is pure luck. I really hope that someone puts in a report about it. If a player carries on in a dangerous manner on the field we an be reported and I hope something similar can occur with umpires

Cant argue with those comments, it was perplexing at times. I have learnt to ignore it now, happens too often to let it worry you.

Interleague boys went down but by no means were they disgraced. Just some skills errors and a it wasteful in front of the big sticks cost us in the end. The lads showed a lot a ticker and did the league proud I thought especially those who were called up late after some questionable late withdrawals. Another great aspect was how well all the guys got on with each other and a great trip back was had

Glad to hear we had a dip. It's a worry when blokes pull out for soft reasons, when they should be prepared to give something back to the league that supplies them with the opportunity to play each week. I'm sure there were a few legitimate withdrawals, but to those who didn't have a decent reason, they should be ashamed of themselves.

There are a few that may have a bit more to worry about then that. The board passed a by-law stating that they have the option to suspend footballers who cannot provide a suitable reason for not playing interleague footy. This was communicated to all clubs, and reiterated last week.

I agree with Roota; those that did play had a crack and had we kicked straight early (1.8 at quarter time), then the result could have been very different. Corey Gregg best, followed by Zac East, Brodie Leonard-Shannon, Nathan McNally and Richard Tibbett.
