I want to get a new comp because my sister is always on this one. My sisters is a Pc, blue shit always comes up and cripted messages are annoying. If anybody has a Mac do you think that it is better then a PC.

I have a Mac. Got it late last year due to upgrade and doing a Graphic Design course which I feel will be my career. Its industry standard, so I got one.

BSoD ****ing owns.

Mac > PC but such a long way.

Mac >>>>>>>>> PC
Reliable, no viruses, in terms of aesthetics they have a sleek design.
Although if you're a gaming nerd then I guess you'd go with the PC since I can't argue that they don't get games out before Macs do.

Mate of mine has been a Mac user for years. In high school we used to do a lot of film making, and the editing tools for the Mac are absolutely brilliant. Like Fraz said, if you're heavily into gaming, PC is better. But for all multimedia purposes, Mac is the way to go.

Once you go Mac you can't go back. They're great I reckon. Sleek design. No viruses. Doesn't freeze. Doesn't take 5 minutes to start up. Awesome shortcuts.

They're a hell of a lot better for everyday purposes, and any multimedia, graphics or MIDI software you may use.

I love my mac but I also have a PC which I do some stuff on ie online games etc. Mac doesn't do as good a job for that. I have a macbookpro core duo

Whats this no virus bullshit people sprout off. Macs get plenty of viruses.

Macs dont get viruses. What are they called then. Maggots. All those who want some mac viruses send me your email addresses and I can send you a few.

My Norton Antivirus has 73, 490 virus definitions. A whopping 6 are Macintosh viruses.

Yeh but Macs do get them and I know that from experience.

PC's have more because brainy nerds use PC's. Designers are the main users of Macs and designers are creative people and no good at writing programs.

I'm interested as to how you correlate virus writers with intelligence.

Because it takes skill and yes they could be using their skills in a better way but it is the thrill of it for most.

Lots of Intelligent people end up in trouble because alot cant handle the false society that majority off people just live with.

Get a Mac that has the ability to run windows. You get the far superior Mac with the ability to play PC games.

The one-button mouse is furken useless though. :thumbsd:

I've got one of each set up at the moment; a 2.4 GHz PC (getting a bit dated now) and one of these:

A PC with Ubuntu does the trick. Although if your heavily into gaming, you really need windows (unless you are able to use WINE in Linux for some games).

Will not buy a Mac, too expensive for what you get. They are good for graphic designers, video producers and snobs (don't believe me, try talking IT with a Mac user. Most of them have no idea).

Try Ubuntu and be pleasantly surprised.

I run Ubuntu (Feisty) - It`s a great distro.

In terms of PC - Mac.

A PC gives you greater flexibility with respect to OS, Hardware and programme choice, The Mac won`t. However - the Mac should be practically bullet proof in terms of stability and general operation.
