this must be a joke comment??

there is no way Daisy Thomas is > then Mcveigh, A soft player like Daisy would never make it in the swnas line-up...

Firstly, yes it was a sarcastic comment based on a comment made by another poster a week or so ago that went along the same lines actually. He likes Daisy more so than Macca as a player, fair enough, his point of view. Dont agree with it but i dont agree with about 80% of what i see that isnt on the Swans board anyway.

I dont think Thomas deserves all the crap he gets on this site and around the AFL, but no way would i ever want him over Mac.

That was me ... and did the poster who again today labelled Thomas "soft" watch last night's game?

Actually, I don't care. I like Thomas as a player; McVeigh is a Sydney Swan so I cheer him on, but I don't have to be sold on the way he plays footy.

Who cares if he's not soft, McVeigh isn't soft and he does more with it. Bevan isn't soft, doesn't mean a whole lot.

Fair enough, sorry about that. yet i do think Daisy does bring crap on him self somtimes, just the way he presents him self with his beach blonde hair, the antics he shows sometimes when he scores a goal, and of course playing for the pies doesnt help him all that much...

He was also playing a more defensive role that doesn't suit him. Since being given freedom he's been very good, I just hope injuries don't start to plague him. Now he's McHard, kinda like someone is over Thomas.

:o:D

I dont particularly mind PB saying he'd prefer Daisy to Mac, his opinion, but calling him soft is a bit much imo, Bedders.

He wins a lot of contested pill, tackles and works hard in close, sure he gets released a bit as Kirky, Jude etc. try to block for him and if it doesnt work he looks bad on the flip side if his opponent gets the ball, but he is so good at winning clearances and kicking goals from stoppages it would be silly not to play him that way, running forward trying to win the clearance. His clearance work against the Saints before he got injured was simply sensational, dunno how many he won, but he seemed to be the only Swan getting his hands to the ball in the middle and he was always forcing it forward, against touch opposition.

Im not a fan of a supporter of his/her club calling one of their own soft at the best of times, it really bothers me, so i think that is a bit harsh. With very rare exceptions i mean, these guys are not soft playing this game.

So you jumped on everyone who called Barlow soft this season? I mean, every single poster, as you're doing here to me.

Well firstly my post was really in response to Bedford's post and generally any posts on BF where players are rided as being "soft", but if he was joking then fine, i dont know. I havent really seen you call him soft.

I did respond to a few posters who got on Barlow at every single opportunity for being soft actually, no not every single one of course but i did make my feelings known (whatever that is worth on BF or in reality, which is nothing really).

Thomas is very courages and he attacks the ball but he is soft, he always hits the ground holding his head etc , there is a difference.
