Bought it yesterday but my net is still messed up waiting for technician this week so I can get online and play some see if it's worth keeping or not

The offline CC is identical to the online one pretty much, so you don't need Internet to determine if you like it or not. :)

Offline never interests me tho, playing CPU is boring. Wanna see what it's like online, anyway I bought it so doubt will return it so soon.
Why is offline boring and online good?
Offline you get a very realistic gameplan against you.
Online you get people going for it on 4th down and running up the score.

Still frustrated at that, was in a game, down 2TDs with a minute to go, and they're still passing on 1st down in the redzone

Thats exactly why. Vs CPU very regimented predictable it doesn't adapt or throw unusual tactics at you

Online no rules no holds barred dynamic and adaptable

That's actually more realistic even tho the gameplay isn't

It's like madden the representation of football is the game not football itself, taking it as such

Online has the human element to it though, as GG said, it's unpredictable. Offline has it's flaws, there's always 2 or 3 get-out plays that make it almost too simple if you're so inclined as to use them.

Also, what's wrong with players trying to run up the score? If you're that arrogant it can backfire. I was playing offline with a 2 TD lead with a bit over a minute to go and went to overtime because I threw 2 interceptions trying to get my QB to throw for over 600yds and rack up more exp points. Funnily enough, going to overtime and then winning actually gave his "legacy points" a huge boost.

THe game's over
Why stop the clock and waste each others time with incompletions?
vs the CPU? Fine, it's your time to waste, but at least run out the clock when playing someone online.

People get even more shitty when you try to kill the game with runs and kneel downs, doing those constant offsides and trying to rage quit. Depends anyway, take it game by game player by player, some play fine so I do kneel and punt and do pats etc to respect how they want to play, while others thru the game you can tell are bratty or play crazy so I know not to get upset if/when they expect you to keep playing or won't get upset if you do crazy things back

Again all this is the beauty of online, its like a box of chocolates and keeps you on your toes, always learn new things or straight out have fun enjoying the craziness from yourself and your opponent

If they're pissing you off that much, just let them score, get possession back, and kneel.

But you know me, I'll persist with a real life offense just about all game and try always control the DT in plays so everyone can do what they're supposed to do in coveage.

You know, this year I have added a new string to my bow. I now can do the outside cutbacks. :p
I've also figured out that impact blocking helps on the run game. So I now get pancakes in games opening the running game :D
I also shift my OL now to run block and audible more :)

I dont want to resort to stupid defensive play calling to get it back, it's stooping down to their level.

Simply I always play properly until I see how the other person plays. If they play properly, great. If they don't but they suck and I'm beating them playing properly I continue that way knowing it aggravates them even more, you know the types using Vick and running around and back twenty yards all four downs doing those reverse screens or whatever, they often end up throwing picks galore or getting sacked for 30 yards on fourth down. It's only when someone plays crazy and I'm struggling that I'll try to fight fire with fire really. It's just I don't get all up in arms if people play improperly whether I win or lose, still just a game to have fun or a laugh.

Online franchise tho is a different kettle.of fish, always try to treat it like real NFL with some rules to keep the best and worst on par as much as possible

Well if you want to take the high ground, that's your choice. Frankly if the wasted time was pissing me off that much I'd stoop to that level, they don't really deserve any better.

That sounds hillarious, perhaps I should play online more. :p

Also, now that I remember, does anyone else seem to have problems with receivers not running out of bounds? It seems when I run towards the sideline that they automatically start running parallel to the sideline and eventually get tackled in bounds.

G’day fellas I saw you were interested in an Australian ConnectedCareers mode on Xbox 360. I wanted to give CCM a red hot crack online as well so was just trying to find some blokes that would be interested in joining in with me. Currently thinking that it will be an All-Pro, 8 minute quarters, slow gameplay. Sliders are subject to change.

Just trying to gauge interest, so if you could get back to me if your interest with your preferred team and sliders that would be ace. Also if you know anyone else that would be interested pass their name on to me or get them to PM me.

Cheers.

The xbox360 league on maddenblokes.com is really well run.
They're relaxed as well and only play the 1 game per week. So you might only play 2, MAYBE 3 seasons. But it is out there.
Check it out :)

Theres alot not to like about this game. I dont bother with the online shit, and people who argue its more realistic are kidding themselves IMO, online has been a joke for years.

The offline game has alot of flaws in it though. Deep passing flat out doesnt work, with a range of amusing results like the ball being thrown out of bounds every play, players dropping wide open passes or the ever amusing 'player wide open fails to put hands up for the catch and it calls incomplete at his feet'. This is using a team with Desean Jackson- no deep threat there.

The RPG like development mechanic sounds cool in practice, but theres a fair bit of flaw to it in reality. For instance, it makes the development of some types of players practically impossible. Fletcher Cox (who started ridiculously low for his draft position) gets sweet lots of FA development points for starting because hes not able to get sacks. Hes not able to get sacks because he starts at an early progression point and needs experience to develop- to get the experience he needs to get sacks. Anyone see the flaw here?

I actually think this may be the worst sports game ive ever had the misfortune of paying for.

Some of the poor game mechanics are hillarious in their ridiculousness. For instance the man coverage against a go route where the CB for reasons unknown to anyone decides to run forward rather than backwards. I just played a game where this happened seven times.

The CCM system is a joke, how can the Rams first round pick be 66 overall as a 'balanced DT'. Don't think you can even change what scheme you want to run, seems like all the teams just run a power run scheme.

After reading some of the not so complimentary feedback here I was a bit reluctant to get it, but when I saw the game has Phil Simms and Jim Nance doing commentary that clinched it for me, now I'm very reluctant. I'll stick with my old version(s).

Don't listen to the debby downers here. It's the best Madden in quite some time, and superior to Madden 12/11/10 in almost every way.
