Don't worry, Kellen Moore is about to do a Tom Brady and overtake everyone from his draft class in 1 season

Kellen Moore to win Detroit a ring, Stafford to be traded at years end :p

The Force Impact system is pretty sweet and uses the size of a player, the weight of a player, and the impact of the collision to produce realistic outcomes. What this means is that big backs will feel like bigger players when going against small DBs in the open field. I know that this all sounds good and I agree because in the build that we played in February didn’t have the Force Impact System. We saw a cool video about it but until I get my hands on Madden 25 again with it in there, no use in me talking about it but to explain what the developers told us and explain what they are trying to accomplish.

One of the more subtle things you’ll notice about the new Infinity Engine is something that EA calls “contextual awareness”. Contextual Awareness is not only evident when guys are getting up after the play but when a guy hurdles over someone, he may put his hand on the player’s shoulder or when a player spins, you may see his hand feel for the defender. With this players are also a lot more solid so that when you run into your own player you won’t just fall down.

AI improvements ensure that defenders take better angles of pursuit and perform breakdown wrap tackles in open space (the success of which depends on their awareness level). An upgraded player switch assist will also help even the odds. When you hit the dive button as your defensive tackle is rushing the QB, for instance, this won't cause your defensive back to dive out of the way accidentally when you press the button to switch players after the ball is released.

UTC has posted three Madden NFL 25 hands-on articles.

Madden NFL 25: Hands On Impressions from Buckeye Part 1

Gone are the days when your blocker would attack the safety and leave the linebacker to blow you up in the backfield. Does it work? I can confidently say that yes it does. Both builds I have played have had excellent blocking logic to where I didn’t have many instances of “What in the world are you doing!” moments. The blocking is much more natural, and maybe its just the placebo effect but the impact blocking seems to have improved as well. Blockers can still shed blocks thankfully, that hasn’t been the issue in the past as much as completely not recognizing the threat… now we don’t have to worry as much about defenders being ignored completely on an overload blitz.

Madden NFL 25: How Fatigue and Stamina Affect Gameplay

Don’t think for one minute that this feature will only affect the ball carrier; you will see stamina affect ever player on the field from wideouts to defensive linemen. I know we have all played guys online who’s favorite play is all streaks or runs a no huddle offense the entire game; in Madden NFL 25 guys will have to think twice about that. If you’re not careful your speedy Mike Wallace-like receiver will be subbed out for quite some time do to exhaustion. On defensive side of the ball you will see some very interesting one on one situations. Think you’re going to beat Chris Johnson to the corner before he turns up field with a tired Patrick Willis? Think again. Abuse your stamina meter and you will surely find your self being left in the dust.

Madden NFL 25: Smitty’s Initial Impressions

Lastly, the aspect that was able to stand out (for the defense) in that early build was the addressing of the Defensive Pursuit Angles. This has been an eyesore for many years and to see this addressed alone should make the “pursuit” rating actually matter now as well as realistic chase downs. I can’t speak on anything else on the defensive side of the ball until I possibly get another chance to play the game in a more refined state.

Any word on if we get NCAA-Madden comparability again?

Force impat system?
yay
Lets create a completely new tackling system every god damn year which will almost certainly have flaws. Why not just fix the 1 year old system?

I think yes. Read it one of the links above.
Trust them to bring it in for the first madden in 7 years I wont be buying.

It's meant to correct some f the odd shit that happened in 13 by the sounds of it

Fair enough, I havn't played madden in months, NCAA Football just shits that much over it that I have forgotten about what's shit with Madden.

I am expecting EA to pause the game and ask if you want to pay 50 cents to intercept the ball.
Maybe online mode would have a game mode where whoever bids the highest amount will win the fumble.
Expecting the game to be always online to allow fluid roster updates by someone who knee jerks with one bad game or hypes up Tim Tebow as EA highly rates well known athletes. Tebows rating will go up ten points if he does a comeback win.
And the connected careers will probably be online only to make up for poor AI - however you have to pay a subscription fee for progression as an EA gold class extra.
There will still be glitchy games and throws to your own endzone with everyone playing the 49ers.

Looks the same like Madden 13. Unfortunately my Madden disc told me it was scratched beyond recognition every time I tried to start a new career yesterday...so I might be getting m25. I've downloaded the game via the disc so I hope it works. Like the MLB games it looks like you're paying 60-80$ for a roster update

Want my copy of m13?

Don't know if it's broken yet, I'm yet to try the downloaded/installed version off the Xbox which apparently works with the disc in scratched or not. Even if it is I'll probably just buy a cheap copy of M25 off ebay, but I appreciate the offer

I want 25 just for the Seahawks to actually be good.
Was tempted to take the crap out of this as well (I really despise EA) however realistically - not gonna happen.

EA makes no secrets about improving the ratings of big name players. Other than Clemons, Willson, Sherman and Lynch there really isn't much else there (despite the roster being stacked). EA tends to have a long memory where players that are crap today that were good a few years ago will still be good.

Expect nothing from them except to pay more cash for content that should of come with the game.

Yeah, I don't expect much. ESPN 2k15 will be where it's at anyway.

@pastapadre Looks as though they're marketing the 360/PS3 Madden as more arcadey, to differentiate from the next-gen (seemingly more hardcore) version

All out on M25 on ps3.

Bring on the PS4

EA's exclusive license also ends once Madden 25 releases.

Good discussion from this blog article, people crying out for 2K

Responding to a fan waving the bloody shirt of NFL 2K5 and saying fans "are sick and tired of not having a choice of picking an NFL game to play," Atallah said:
We have an agreement with EA and Madden. I have heard some opinions like yours, but honestly, EA is one of our best partners. I know they hear some of your input as well and work to improve the game every year.
When another fan said "I will not purchase another ea nfl licensed game until the consumers are able to have a choice again. The consumers should be in your best interest sir." Atallah replied:
I'm sorry to hear that. One thing to clarify though, my job and the job of the NFLPA, is to ensure that the players' interests are top priority. I know that might not be the most popular answer, but it's our mission.
