Ok time for that Magarey thread again. Who is your tip? It may seem easy at first, one name on most peoples lips is Jeremy Clayton and rightly so, he has had a blinder of a year. But have heard many times he backchats the umpires.....will this affect his votes?

I'll do best two or more chances from each club then pick a top 5:

Central:

OK tonight is the night! Still tipping Clayton he surely will win it, but many times in the past raging favourites havent won it! So....if that happens maybe Arnott from Central? Been high in best in their big winning streak.

For tonights count, I'll expect Clayton, Powell to get off to a fast lead with Borlace also polling pretty well despite Norwood losing a lot. Sheedy should also go well early then fade cos he got injured. Brown will come strong thru the middle as will Cicolella and Arnott will come home strong.

Also expect some South boys to poll well early like Kenna, Tuckey and Warren.

Still sticking with my top 5 in that order, prolly nowhere near that in the end..
 
Ben Warren would be high up there for South Adelaide. Him and Tim Fleming were real stand outs in a pretty dismall second half of the season.

I'm going to go for a bolter here. A bit of a departure from the normal midfielder who wins the Medal. I'm going for Nick Gill from North Adelaide. On his day spectacular and I think he's played enough good games for the Roosters to poll plenty of votes. I'm probably that far off the mark I'll look ridiculous :)
 
Not too sure about Bailey Thunderstruck, even with his surfie hair and white boots he was fairly ordinary through the first half of the year.

I'd probably replace him with someone like Campbell who had a blinder of a year, although missing three weeks through suspension + one coming back through the reserves may hamper his chances a bit.
 
If someone can give any updates at all later tonight, I'd be very grateful...as usual no coverage in country SA..don't think it's even on FOX Footy later this week either(was last year). :mad:

I should be able to do that for you. Not sure if Nine's telecast is live but I guess that's where I'll be getting it from.
 
I expect Luke Ivens to poll well in the first half of the year. Other Roosters to go well I think will be Nick Gill, Chris Ladhams and Scott Bamford. I don't think any of them will get close to winning it as a lot of votes will be taken off each other. North have had a good contribution from all players this year with no one in the top 10 for Disposals or Marks.
 
Dont expect Clayton to be a sure thing just yet. Remember he abuses the umpires something shocking every week. They could have easily not given him votes or as many votes as he should have got for that very reason. I wouldnt be surprised if he didnt get it...in fact Im pretty positive he wont get it for that very reason.

Im tipping Chris Ladhams for a top 3 spot, possibly the win. Brett James and Borlace will be up there. Kenna will poll very well early. Colreavy for Sturt should poll alright. Powell for the Eagles will be top 5. Centrals is wide open. Arnott, Schell and Bello should do alright. Fisher from Glenelg is a smokey.

Look for Chris Knights for a reasonably high finish too.
 
Forgot about Colreavy, he has had a good year and would be in that second bracket of Sturt names I listed.

Had a feeling re Cicolella, even tho he has missed HEAPS he always polls really well, may get more than some think.

Still sticking with Clayton but deep down Arnott is the name I hear.
