He hasn't shown anywhere near enough since he's come back from injury to say he deserves a place ahead of anyone trying hard for Bendigo. Drop him and make him earn it.

And can someone please give Hocking an intensive lesson in not getting run down? I swear he gets caugh holding the ball 4 times every game.

Reimers is running to the right spots, makes good decisions and takes the game on which everyone at Essendon loves. His skills were awful tonight though, it was at least three times he tried to hit Lloyd on the lead only to kick it 3 metres above his head. Shouldn't be dropped but should look at the tapes long and hard. Love his attitude and reading the play though.

How is Reimers being made to be the scapegoat?

McPhee is looking like trade bait to me and was definitely one of our worst for the night.

If McVeigh can slot right back in underdone and we can play Watson injured, Reimers deserves a chance to work himself into form.

Why drop Reimers? He's getting to the right spots, he's kicking goals - he just needs to put it all together - don't forget he's literally had no preseason and missed the majority of '09 through injury.

We need him in the side, he makes us a better team.

Lol.

Just because you got ur expectations too high on what Kyle can do at this stage of his career. Add to that he has had no preparation at all.

He is progressing fine. The talent is there but the endurance and fitness base is not. That and experience I guess.

He is not being played midfield all game because he cannot run it out. Maybe in a couple of years.

Dont forget he was bottom aged pick up in 06.

There is not always something better at Bendigo. Have some patience.

If Monfries is fit next week I'd leave Watson our before I'd drop Reimers. I hate playing obviously unfit players. We need him 100% for the run in, and it might be a good opportunity to give McVeigh more responsibility by throwing him into the middle.

Last time I checked Kyle was 20 years of age and returning from a serious injury.

Give him a break. Still plenty to learn and massive upside ahead. A full pre-season will do him wonders.

The only way to be match fit is to play matches IMO...

McPhee (butterfingers) and McVeigh both did nothing last night.

These are two I'd rather see earn their spots and give a kid a chance. Prefer to have Houli and Myers out there to see how far they want to go in their careers, NOT playing in a VFL team that is giving them nothing other than bad habits and a losing mentality.

So about 10 responses here saying stuff like "he's 20 and returning from injury"...

That's the point.

I'm not saying he shouldn't be in the team when fit and firing, or that he should be traded. I'm saying that while he's returning from injury he should play for Bendigo, like everyone else does. Is that really so hard to follow?

I agree with lamaros.
To those who say he hasnt had much of a pre-season or a preperation after returning from a serious injury, then all he is saying is that, remiers could prepare and get some fitness and form back in bendigo.
To be fair to the lad, he mightn't have been played in his preffered position last night although that still doesnt make up for when he actually gets the ball, the sloppy kicking and entries into the 50.
Dont get me wrong, i dont like to bash players, i just believe it might be more beneficial for himself and the team to go back to the VFL and get a couple more games under his belt after dominating for bendigo and then bring him back into the side while he's got all cylinders firing. He's a good developing player, and will be one for the near future.

He's better than anyone in the twos on form and potential. Thats why he is in the team. Morris is an excellent defender. He has been fine and will get better.

He played 2-3 games for Bendigo before playing in the firsts - the only way you can truely get match fit is playing AFL, especially when our 2nd's are as terrible as Bendigo.

Whats he doing wrong anyway? He's averaging around 15 touches and a goal per game - yeah he got beaten last night but Morris has beaten much more seasoned players than Kyle.

I agree with lamaros.

He's had one bad game - before that he's been solid/good.

Was poor against Adelaide, Sydney and Collingwood by my measure also.

Adelaide was his first game back - you're a hard marker

Sydney - laughable, he was good against Sydney, would've been very good if he had nailed those goals.

Collingwood - Poorish

He's still averaging 15 disposals and 1 goal/game, primarily as a forward. I'm prepared to forgive a few brain explosions/errors from time to time.

So you expected him to see the bloke coming off the bench ?
And as far as 4 times a game, get your hand of it. It would be lucky if it has been 4 times this year.

I belive that Stanton has been run down from behind plenty of times, along with Lovett, Winderlich, Davey and a few others. Hocking has benn no worse than anyone else in the side.
Monfries is another but he is an expert at collasping at the knees and getting an in the back decision.

Maybe the lesson is for the others to try talking. Maybe a bit more on field leadership and talk would prevent the problem.

As for Reimers i think a few have missed the point a bit.
We all know that he has come off an extremly poor pre season and has a poor fitness base. The question is does that excuse the coaches for picking a player that struggles to give us something for 4 quarters.

We know he is good. We know he can play but his lack of fitness base is IMO a problem for us. personally i would rather see Skippy back in and giving us a 4 quarter 20 possession 1 goal game and hope that Kyle has a good pre season next year and can come out firing from the start.

You never really catch up during the season. What you miss pre seasons hurts you all year.

A whole squad needs to earn their stripes in a side, not just an individual or two.

I was exaggerating to be sure, but Hocking does get done holding the ball more than the rest of the mids. Part of this is due to to him trying to take others on a fair bit, part is speed.

More talk in the midfield is certainly needed. I noticed a few errors from that against the Dogs.
