Moore 2014 +
Weideman 2015+
Daicos 2016 =

Premiership + 5

I don't think my heart could take seeing another passionate Pies supporter going to another club, I don't normally condone it but seeing as how he's basically a father son i would forgive him if he pulled a Wingard/Buckley and just straight up refused to play for another club.
If you were another club you'd also have to be terribly concerned about losing him as a free agent, especially if they wish to move back free agency eligibility a few years, by the sounds of it if he doesn't want to come back to Collingwood his Grandfather will force him anyway!

Hugh Goddard was a top 5 prospect (or there abouts) this time last year and he slid down to pick 21, so there's every chance he too could slide, but considering his ties to the club i'd be stumped if he didn't play for the Pies at some point in his career.

Need to start a plan of action now in order to secure the weed.

1) Enrol him in a course which will teach him how to perform poorly in interviews.
2) Instruct him to to send tweets throughout the year bagging the supporters, players, coaches and management of every other club. Make it as offensive as he likes.
3) Get the rumour mill working to put out the message that if any other club picks him up he is just going to be lazy and disruptive for the two years of his contract and then leave at the first opportunity.
4) Eddie to do some work behind the scenes to convince other clubs not to take him. Money can change hands I have no issue with that.

If we put in the work starting now we can get the weed.

id pay overs for him, just because of the Magpie royalty in his veins.

him and Darcy could make a pretty handy father and son key forward duo to over take our current father and son in big Trav!

It would be fantastic if there were some way for him to make his way to us from a tradition / nostalgia perspective, here's hoping it works out. :thumbsu:

This may be a little off topic and a classics 3am Sunday morning post but what if a kid has a step father but was never told that he has a step father and his 'step father' played 100 games for a club but his biological father did not ?
There was actually some discussion about biological / adoptive relationships at one stage, it seems like adoptive F/Ss could be reviewed on their merits, if what was discussed here was ever implemented.

You might just have stumbled on to the solution: Grandpa Weideman adopts the young bloke, whooshka, Bob's your uncle, F/S here we come. That seems iron-clad to me.

I've been on this kids bandwagon all year.

Hoping like hell he somehow gets to us. Having a team with the names Moore, Daicos and Weideman is my wet dream :straining:

Recruit Sam's dad ...

... Put Sam on ice for the 4 and a bit years it takes to get his Dad up to 100 games ...

... et voila!
3 years. He already played 30-something games with us.

Yeah i wanted talls this draft but if CFC waited to have a shot at Weideman then you beauty.

It's pretty easy this, just start talking about how "even if we don't draft him, he will be at Collingwood eventually" and other clubs will be hesitant to draft him, especially with an early pick.

I'd be happy to use our first round pick on him already.

Given the academy gifts the AFL has allowed the NSW/QLD teams, we should lobby for a father/son/grandson rule.

Say, if the grandfather and the son have played a combined 200 games (each must have a played a minimum of 25 games though), you can apportion 100 games to each and therefore make the grandson eligible as a father/son/grandson.

How many games did Murray & Mark play for us ?:p

Murray 180 games & Mark 28 games

Its easy, if he wants to play for the pies he just has to cruise through next year, not do anying special ( looking at u darcy moore ) and we should be able to get him no worries

I think its better to go the "attitude problems" route. A few nights on the town just before the U18 championships and some well timed instagram updates and we have ourselves a sketchy second round prospect. Hell, ill even bite the bullet and take the kid out myself
