I forgot
MM..... Garlett, Bootsma , Jamieson , Armfield, Rowe, Casboult and Kreuzer had 10 or less disposals.Murphy is excused for less than 10 due to an accident .
Bailey, Breust and Simpkin ( sub ) for the Hawks had less than 10 disposals for the game .
So you see MM you were out played .
Kreuzer was close to best on ground
Can Kreuzer, Jamison, Rowe and Casboult be excused for playing somewhere between 'pretty good' and 'excellent' games? Armfield wan't bad either; played on Birchall and kept him very quiet for three quarters.

Possession counts used to completely judge the performance of key position players, taggers and ruckmen...I swear, it's nearly time to give up. The punch from behind will be extinct in five years, because it doesn't get you a Dream Team point.
Strategy either didn't watch the game or simply doesn't understand it.

From juniors until I was 35. How about yourself?
Quite astounding then that you don't think the Lucas kick to the trainer was a reasonable one, particularly given the trainer was running away from the ball at the time. In fact, had the trainer have been his teammate, I reckon it would have been a perfect kick given the location of the Hawthorn opponents.

That kick from Lucas is at least 15m from the Hawthorn medical staffer; it's actually closer to a carlton player then the medical staffer.

Not a great spacial awareness in this comment. With the Lucas kick, the medico has been high tailing it out of there the whole time towards the boundary away from the drop of the ball; the Carlton player and his Hawthorn opponent were running towards the ball drop. So of course by the time it landed, the medico was 15m away and the Carlton player was closer. From where the medico would have been when the kick was placed, if it had been a Carlton player, he would have changed direction back inboard and marked the ball unopposed. Terrible understanding of football in this comment IMO.

Clearly, neither incident there is comment worthy from a respected coach.

You're probably not in a good position to comment on what a respected coach should and shouldn't say.

This is spot on! (I feel dirty)

If that Hawthorn medical staffer had been someone with Yarran's speed I don't think he could have got to that football as a mark - the football wasn't kicked high. A carlton player might have got thereabouts and that would have created a 2 on 1 but that's about it. Seems a long bow to draw if this is what malthouse has to come up with as the game changing moment. Having a cool head is part of what an AFL player requires in his armoury.

Malthouse's own behaviour dictates the level of respect he should be afforded.

You are wrong. Watch the footage. The medico made more ground after Lucas spotted him up than was the distance between that original position and where the ball eventually dropped. It's not even arguable unless you've decided stance is more important than truth. You've just got it completely wrong here.

No, I think I've got it right and it is you that has decided your stance is more important then the truth.

With deflection at carlton clearly not just isolated to the coach of the carlton football club.

Those incidents do look way worse on a second viewing... Pretty clearly influenced the play and should have resulted in carlton frees

Who cares about the trainers, the umpires etc. Classic deflection from mick in his press conference - bottom line, carlton are just not good enough to beat the better teams in the comp, and there is in fact a mounting argument they are no better under malthouse than they were under ratten. In fact they could even be worse - at least under ratten they beat Coll rich and ess in 2012.

With judd carazzo Waite scotland and Simpson all ageing and past their best, and murphy and Gibbs having failed to develop into the truly elite players many expected they would become, this carlton list is very precariously placed. Some seem to see this as a season of building under malthouse, In fact the reality is they may just hanging on. They won't be playing finals this year and will slide even further in 2014.

Typical narcissistic rage from Malthouse. He knew Richo was a softie and would let him get away with it

Yep. When I hear Malthouse go crook at umpires after they've had the better of the calls (and yes Mick, it does happen), then maybe I'll take some notice. Until then, you're just another boofhead looking for excuses.

Didn't break any rules so cannot be a free.
Didn't interfere with play, was just doing his job running off the field 50m from the ball and player made a mistake. Still needs to be fixed though.
