There was no attempt to veil his criticism. It was as though he thought, "Bugger it... I'm so angry right now, I'm prepared to cop a fine." It appears as though the AFL have gone a bit soft in 2013 with the new Operations Manager, Mark Evans still finding his way in the job. Chris Scott, Joel Selwood, Paul Chapman and others all had a bit to say about the decision to suspend Kelly, whereas in the past, it was always a no-go zone for clubs to comment on these sorts of things.
Not just in 2013, they were soft on it in the 2nd half of 2012. Murphy and Laidler both got fined for comments on twitter about the umpiring in the WC v Carl game last year when they were out injured.

A number of North players tweeted about Ziebell's suspension a couple of weeks later and didn't even get a please explain from the AFL.

Yeah, but if we got an equal number of free kicks (and they certainly were there to be paid), we would have won. Let alone 9 more.
You cant say that, what if you shanked every free, Carlton have been very poor under pressure at the end of games this year so not sure whether the frees would have won you the game or not, but the frees were definitely there.

This is spot on. Who knows if Carlton would have won or lost with better umpiring. All we can say it that the discrepancy was there and it made it harder to win. In the end, while it played a part, it's only one of many inputs and probably the one that teams have the least control over.

While it is getting frustrating to be on the end of this crap more weeks than not, there are other things the Blues could have done to win, so probably best to iron out the other inputs so we can overcome such shitty umpiring in the future; as no doubt this is not the last time we'll be subjected to it.

On the Ch 7 coverage, Malthouse was being interviewed by Richo in the rooms. After a amiable chat for a few minutes, Malthouse stiffened and unleashed on the fact the Hawks doctor was in blue, implying it resulted in two wayward kicks leading to turnovers.

He was livid. Stared a hole through Richo and when Richo cut him off, e kept going. Then when they finally did wrap it up, Malthouse ignored Richo's thank you and walked off. Richo was visibly taken aback by how angry Malthouse was.

Does he have a point? I love Mick, absolute legend and I loved the passion. Called it straight and spot on as usual.

Could have been a bit nicer to Richo though, Richo's a bit of a softie.
save the emotion for ANZAC day Mick. And Nanette, do us a favour and give him a reach around.

When it all goes to crap again for Mick next year there will be journos lining up to take pot shots at him. Should be very enjoyable viewing indeed.
Karma.
