We can only hope that Michael Carrick is backed in the transfer window with some real quality and any footballer like Dalot becomes a squad player. I would be very disappointed if he starts any more than 10 league matches. His starts should be chosen carefully, so against clubs mid to lower table.

In some coaching staff news, we are apparently targeting Aaron Danks from Bayern Munich to join us. Has worked with Carrick before at Boro and is rated for his tactical acumen.

Good to hear we are looking to beef up in this area as well. These days a well rounded coaching team is also very important.

Would pass on Baleba, tbh. Hasn't taken the step to the next level that was expected.

We need proper investment pretty much all over the park in terms of starting quality and depth quality. In seasons gone past, whenever we made it back to CL, we would play it safe in the transfer market and then completely regress the season after, I hope we have learnt our lesson this time around if we genuinely want to compete for major trophies again.
