Over the last 5 or so seasons my mates and I have had a bet that which ever of our sides finish higher on the EPL ladder, the others shout him lunch.

My mates consist of 2 Liverpool fans and a Geordie fan.

Today is free lunch day.

At least 5 free lunches to me so far.

Think the main topic of today will be DT, SC and where I want my free lunch next year for the current season

Can't really compare spending back in 1992 when a top player could be bought for £5m to spending now (Andy Cole was a British transfer record in 1995 at £7m).

And our spending can't get us more silverware from the past 20 years. But I'm guessing it will get us some silverware over the next 20 years.

Let's meet here and compare figures in 20 years time.

It's because he goes in too hard. Sometimes he just needs to think about some of his challenges. Maybe watch Rio. He hardly ever goes in for stupid tackles. Not only is he risking injury to himself (and the other player) but he also risks getting a card. He actually reminds me a but of Mitch Robinson. Not the most skill but you know he will give it his all. I have no doubt Sir Alex will be able to iron out his flaws however

Nani was great today. playes 60min. goal assist and a couple of shots from outside the box that hit the post however I didn't like his "RVD" like goal celebration. He shouldn't be trying to make it all about himself imo

although if he keeps scoring I will forgive him

if Chelsea beat Prague in the Europa League, our tie will most likely be on 11 March due to them playing in the EL on 8 March.

The only positive would be that all games would be at home - our away game against West Ham would be displaced by the FA Cup QF.

Whatever happens, our fixture is going to be a lot more congested than Citys for the next month due to the return leg. The 12 point gap is going to be a nice bit of breathing space during that period as we will slip up here and there.

End of the day the EPL has to be top priority and given what happened against Everyon I think Fergie realises this so expect a pretty strong starting line up for EPL matches

So apparently David Gill will step down in June. Shame. Done a rather good job under the circumstances.

Today is the 21st February. This very poignant date is known to millions of Manchester United fans. "Get stuck in lads" and the origin of that quote is well know, but there are many fans who are not aware of the tale behind it? Please permit me to either enlighten you or, forgive me if you already know?

On the 20th February 1958, Duncan Edwards was in his hospital bed in Munich. It was two weeks since the air crash and, although many of his team-mates had died instantly, Duncan had clung on to life with an incredible determination. His condition had varied between coma andconsciousness. He had been able to talk but had deliberately not been told about the deaths of his fellow players.

Jimmy Murphy, Sir Matt Busby's number two, was at his bedside when Duncan opened his eyes and asked him if the team had kicked off in their scheduled game against Wolves. Jimmy replied that they would be kicking off soon. Duncan smiled and said those immortal words "Get stuck in lads", closed hid eyes and went to sleep.

Those were the last words that he ever spoke, as he died at 02.15 the following morning....R.I.P. Duncan Edwards, 1st October 1936 - 21st February 1958 (aged 21). As long as I breathe I will never forget him.
