Angus graham actually beats him in every statt available in Ivan Maric's best year of football for the crows.

Whilst im not a fan of hampson i would prefer to take hampson with a 2nd round pick than maric with a 3rd round pick.

If We give up anything more than our 3rd selection , I WILL BE SPEWING.

neither maric or hampson are established at their clubs and have large question marks over aspects of their game. Nason & 4th or PSD for Maric sounds good.

He was also 2nd ruck behind Jon Griffin that year. He isn't an athletic 2nd ruck type. He's a first ruck. He played as no.1 against us and had 37 HO. Have u seen Gus ever have 37 HO. Last year he was also something like 4th in the entire AFL for HO to Advantage.

I don't mind Maric, as long as we don't overpay. If we can get him for a 3rd + fringe player I'l be content. Second rounder by itself maybe... but not overly keen on the idea.

Anything more and I'l be pissed off. Talk of the compo pick is ridiculous.

Hampson on the other hand, I'd be comfortable offering our second rounder for him, even a second rounder and a fringe. Not the greatest ruckman around, but big upside considering his huge frame and athelticism. He could really prosper as a number 1 ruck I think.

This is exactly what the club is saying. They are not basing his selection entirely on past form although they love his agression and physicality, they are basing his selection on a belief that he is ready to reach his full potential.

I have to say, I am not sold but have faith the club know what they are doing.

Know its essentially the same thing... but for the sake of accuracy.

Either way, looks pretty decent.
Not sure how I feel about letting go of the compo pick though. Think I'd prefer us to keep it.

Hampson and Maric would be pretty pointless. Not as if either is a KPF or anything.

Would be like recruiting Fev AND Barry Hall

Yep for sure. Let's move on for Hmaspon, we're getting Maric. Carlton are keen to keep Hampson anyway. I can see him getting games there even with Warnock and Kruezer playing. Eventually he'll slot in for Setanta. Hampson will probably play this week!

I dont think it will b over the line this early, there is always suprises during trade week and rfc would b neglegent not to explore all options than just bank on maric who is really just an average player to this point of his carreer.

I really dont rate maric that highly tbh, Sure i will hope he does well and all but the crows went out and got jacobs because Maric was not good enough.

Any more than a 3rd rounder i would be extremely dissapointed and would rather just go out and get either a gun ruck and pay the required or a cheapie option like a blake.

Best case trade would be Nason-Maric both players with very little chance of getting games at their clubs but may be usefull at another club.

Really hope the club doesnt over pay on this trade.

If he wants to come to Richmond which by the sounds of things he does than why are we offering them players and good picks? We should either bend them over with a trade or tell him to go to PSD

I would rather give up our first draft pick and get s DECENT ruckman, one that can take us forward not another Graham and that is what influence Maric or Hampson will have

yes we all want a quality ruckman, but there really are not any on offer, and even if they were we wouldnt have the currency to attract one.

Play hard ball and get Maric for free in the preseason draft... worked well with houli! I dont want to lose any draft picks even in this shallow draft. We need our third or fourth rounder to take Morris as F/S.

I would prefer Hampson but we would have to give too much. Rumor had it a couple of years ago Port offered pick 8 (ended up being Andrew Moore) for him and Carlton said no! Carlton are too hard to deal with

If this is in relation to us pushing back the pick 9 in the 09 Draft that was supposedly offered, Hampson was very much a required player at the time. We had Warnock who had just spent a the whole season injured, Kreauzer who was going alright and Jacobs who hadn't shown too much as of then. It wasn't that we wanted more, more that we wanted Hampson.

At the moment I would expect Hampson to be kept at Carlton unless we get a good offer. Once again, he's a required player. Add to that he's an athletic beast, it'd be in our best interests to keep him.

Maric is a decent enough ruckman, though I quit liked the look of Derickx during last years NAB cup.
