Mark Blake

Question for the Cats' faithful. I'm interested in acquiring Mark Blake in a trade in the fantasy footy competition. I note he's been dropped for the game against the Dogs. Where does this leave him, given that it seemed an ideal game for him to play? Should I take the punt on him breaking back into the Cats and advance a trade for him?

All he can do is ruck, And he is only ok at that, but he is young and should improve.

But whats worrying is his lack of confidence in kicking the ball and just his general around the ground work is poor.

But as i said he is young and the coaching staff know more than me, so there must be a reason he is still on the list, i'm just not sure what it is yet.

He probably wouldn't get many points for your dreamteam. I supose you would just have to weigh it up to how many $$$ he is worth. He should play again in the snr team but he wont be a regular so it's a bit of a risk.

His only averaging like 34 points each week but then again he is cheap. He would be ok in your reserves but I wouldn't put him in your top 22.

LOL I probably should get back to doing some homework (I should have over 1 hrs ago). Gosh these footy forums are so distracting! hahaha :p

You'd be better off buying Josh Fraser. He will give you more for your money.

Blake would only be good as an emergency.

frasers definately a better option. i had blake in my team but traded him this week. i think he could be quite a good player in the future but for now is a bit shaky. not too bad in the ruck occasionally but as most people have said, not so good around the ground.

I don't know why he was dropped. We don't have Steven King, and then we drop Blake. I was worried last week about playing the Dogs, without King in the ruck. But since they won't have Darcy or Will Minson, I think that this will be their weakness this week. Ottens is dominant in the ruck when he plays there, but with Kingsley out, I would want to see Ottens up forward if needed, and without Scarlett, we need to keep Mooney at full-back. So if we had Blake, it would allow Ottens and Mooney to be used in other positions and give us flexibility.

As i am o/s and have not seen a game i am reluctant to comment. HOWEVER from what i have seen Mark Blake has the requisite brain and body for afl footy. He has always shown ability and i was excited by reports of his pre season form. I was bitterly dissapointed to see him dropped this week. Geelong will not trade him, that is certain, look elsewhere.

We can't carry Blake against the Bulldogs, when all you can do is ruck thats not good enough. We need someone to work hard at ground level, who can provide much more than just rucking. Send Mooney in again if we have to, it's not like Blake was winning us any of the clearences last week was he?

The bulldogs are too good of a team to have this bumbling oaf playing for us.
