Blicavs ain't a ruck. He has become a decent midfielder who is exceptional at the third man up role. Who knows how long he will get away with it before a rule change is made makimg his main asset redundant. Motlop gets more of the ball then Blicavs despite playing less minutes in the midfield, Can carry the ball and break lines, players which we seriously lack and is seriously dangerous around goals which we also seriously lack. Motlop is more important then Blicavs.
I am a huge Blitz fan and I think your analysis is pretty accurate. He is necessarily a fill in #1 ruck but is only pinch hitting in that role in the absence of a fit Stanley , Simpson or perhaps Clark.
Stanley showed what he can do v Port and his absence has a negative flow on effect ( compounded with Clarks absence) - it means both Blitz and Walker play out of position and we are a weaker side as a result.
Blitz needs more time to develop as a mid but he was showing fantastic signs in that role and the sooner we get him back there the better.
Similarly Walker should be having time at CHF in Clarks absence but we need him to support Blitz in the ruck - it's no surprise he is inconsistent when he is moved from pillar to post instead of being alllowed to settle into his best position.
Mots is fantastic when he plays the team game and is a rare player in that he is a game changer when he's on.
I am really looking forward to the second half of the season and in particular what we do with Gore and Jansen. Both have potential to make a difference in 2016 provided they get some exposure this season. If one or both come on it will take pressure off Caddy and Guthrie and give us Selwood and Duncan as our more experienced group - Dangerfield would lift our midfield group enormously if he comes. We have very good forwards and backs who can hold up strongly when our mids get on top - as our good wins have shown. Let's get back to having a powerhouse midfield
