He should be traded or played as a depth player when we dont have any other options. He is a break glass in an emergency player, when there are no decent kids available to take the spot.

He cant ruck, he cant take contested marks, his disposal under pressure is horrible as is his decision making.

The last thing we need in defence is Blicavs.

Oh dear.... someone baited the wrong hook....:drunk:

And after Blitz in the last month i'm starting to think.. Domsy who?

And by that I mean he's taking the gorilla forward each week and just getting it done.

I miss Domsy still but damn BLitz is making it hard to remember him.

A la Tommy Stewart and Boris.

Go Catters

Encouraging with big Harry coming to an end
Thought a second big back would need to be a target
No longer required
Hendo, Blitz, Stewart Kolo Bews and Henry may be our defense for the next 5 years

The way Blitz can run with and carry you actually can have the extra tall when necessary.
That's the advantage, you lose nothing with the 198cm running machine.

He will win another B’n F one day, he’s been fantastic for the club since he got here.
I'm picking 2018 already. Never injured (scratches head- no splinters), does all the coach asks of him week after week, we are very fortunate to have such a mobile big gun.

After the last month he's had, you do scratch your head a little when you think back to round 2 & 3 where the club decided to not go in with a second ruck or even a first ruck, meaning that Blitz was taken out of defence to fill gaps elsewhere.

Obviously he has grown into the FB role as the seasons gone on, but you wonder if the club could rethink a couple of decisions from earlier this year if the first one would be "DO NOT TAKE BLICAVS OUT OF DEFENCE"

Henderson apparently went ok in his return match today, while Taylor won't be risked before the bye - obviously it will be a good headache when those guys are available for selection, but surely the emphasis has to been on them to earn their selection rather than being gifted a spot which could upset the balance of the defensive unit which really is working so well together right now.

Blitz 2E Kolo Henry Bews would have to be the best defense in the league right now.
Who would have guessed it ..
My feeling is that a huge amount of it comes from having Scarlo at the club. At the moment we have a back 6 who all play to their strengths. It's pretty impressive.

You are predictable if nothing else.

so are the fanboys

extremely defensive game plan playing at home against North who move the ball fairly slowly

Ben Brown has little impact against a team defense but because Blicavs was manning him it was his great defensive work.

Lets see how he goes at the MCG cos last time against the bombers he was horrific in defense

Ok eyore let’s never celebrate a player’s achievement from moving into a postition that they haven’t played in before and doing better than expected.

You are such a sad ****ing campaigner I’m so happy I don’t have your mindedet where you need to tear down the players because they have proven you wrong.

MOD EDIT - PERSONAL ABUSE NOT TOLERATED

Mate you seriously can't use the bombers game as an example.
That game was completely stuffed up by the coaches.

They left him in defence where he had no match up and meanwhile let danger ruck.

Bobby actually got one right. Years ago he called blitz a defender. And I thought he was nuts.
But due to massive improvement in his aerial skills you've got to say Bobby was spot on.

Not to mention his ability to run right up to full forward and then get back before anyone else does.

Except North are known for moving the ball extremely quickly, particularly from a kick out....
It's just brilliant coaching and team structures that disallowed that completely.

Id not quite go that far yet ... and to be fair cynical he has a point. The G is the test for him and the team. It applies to us as a scoring and defending team it applies to Blitz in defence , it applies to all of our young defence , it certainly applies to GA.. to a degree admit it or not ..we are all on lets see how we roll against last year Premiers , coming off a loss , playing our home game on their turf. Last time there was ugly.

Saying that... Blitz playing at FB is bringing a side to the role that makes it hard for traditional forwards to know what to do. Brown did not know ..how do I stay with Blitz.. do I try , do I stay at home etc.. and then when the ball came down he was under pressure... so obviously , just as it was with Scarlo and Lonergan... help is an important part of it.

But any one not happy to see what he has done so far is seeing thru tinted glasses. Perhaps Gardner and House would be less than happy with his form ..the spot that they perhaps eyed has evaporated in the space a couple of months.

That went down well!

So what is it that puts a smile on Cynicals dial? Please don't say only a flag coz I'm fairly sure the season lasts 6 months and that's way too long to wait for one day we more than likely don't play in most of the time. Me, I loved watching Gaz Snr more than our recent flags but I gather you rated that era a dismal failure. Each to their own.
