The only possie he should be playing is a forward pocket. He's just too slow nowadays and will get exploited in the midfield.

PSD or nothing. I understand Harvey is mates with all these guys but that is no reason for us to go trading for them. Mark Johnson doesnt have the ability to be a top AFL player anymore.
I dont no if this is Harveys agenda or not but we are the Fremantle Football Club not the palce Essendon sends their rejects.
He is 28 FFS.

Johnson hasn't lost his ability - his physical prowess has diminished with age
it happens to everyone.

We don't need anymore oldsters in our side we need an injection of youth!!

Agreed wiz, but if Belly does go, he may not be a bad replacement. Our last Essendon reject in Solly will finish in our top 5 or 6 in the B&F - some of these guys seem willing to do anything to play well under Harvey. It's Harvey's head on the line now too, not anyone elses - if he wants to take a chance on Johnson, I think he deserves the opportunity.

Kepler Bradley, Ken McGregor, Mark Johnson...

Its all part of a plan to confuse the opposition into thinking we don't know what we are doing. Then when we get to the table we are going to put all these sensible ideas and steal other draft picks from clubs below us - great plan!

Seriously guys I am really worried about some of the rumors coming out of our club. Mark Johnson is a back pocket who occasionaly plays midfield. He only has mediocre skills, his pace has dropped off and he is more of a thug than a "Hard" man.

If you want to play back pocket players in the middle, it would be far cheaper to train up Hayden over the off season. If you want real toughness, get Ryley Dunn and Brock O'Brien up to AFL fitness levels. Forget Mark Johnson.

I also don't buy into the Solomon 5th in the best and fairest thing - thats like saying Byron Pickett was a good thing for Melbourne. Solomon has taken the place of young players like Marcus Drum and denied them time to develop at the highest level. And thats what Mark Johnson would do too.

Hopefully, Like Bradley and McGregor this is just another baseless rumour.
What are we? Carlton with no access to the draft buying up all the hacks and rejects from other clubs?
No Thanks.

Look at Sollys age mate, he has anther 4-5 years left in him if his body stays relatively healthy.

I wouldnt give up a draft pick for him. However I would certainly consider a PSD for him. should we not be developing up some youth like Foster, Ibbotson and the like next season.....

You were doing so well...then you wrote a paragraph of unmitigated twaddle.

How about this? McManus? Now you have a point.

Bugger that...how about playing Foster, Drum or Ibbotson? Guys who have 10 years in them...now there's a thought
just remember that kim hagdorns opinion doesnt necessarily reflect harvs' thoughts

i reckon none of the names mentioned so far will happen

Assuming Belly stays and Haze accepts a pay cut and stays then we can't afford to have belly, josh & Haze in the midfield together

Maybe two of thenm but never three tooooo slow. Now add Solly a hard nut but not the quickest and Macca why do we need another mature slow backpocket come midfielder(M.Johnson)

We need youngsters with stamina and a little bit of leg speed.

I don't want anyone coming to Freo that is over 24 unless we trade a player who is older then they are to get them

Big call, no other club has been more trade happy than Freo. Not sure what makes you think that will change as long as Schwab is the CEO.

i disagree, he could be the best small forward in the league.. takes a great mark, great crumbing forward who is willing to put the defensive pressure on. i hope he stays at essendon and plays in the forward pocket, he would be very good imo.. capable of 40+ goal forward

According to the Sunday Times Mark Johnson is our number one trade target if Bell or Haselby leave. If Johnson comes cheaply it could be handy player that will help improve our clearances from the midfield.

Wow, great news...not!

Why the heck do we need another slow midfielder like him? He is old as well? He will turn out like Scott Camper...
